The HD2010 anal question of the day

You guys that have the HD2010 have to appreciate the fact that it always starts on HIGH, so you don’t have to cycle past the 2 blinky modes to hit all three regular modes.

But lets say you go from HIGH to LOW, and then decide you want to go to HIGH again.

Do you shut the light off for a second or two, and then turn it on to get to HIGH?
Or do you click three times and cycle through the two blinky modes?

Rats, finally sold my 2010 509hp Mustang...now I can buy more lights!

Sold the red one too! Now guess what I drive, doing my penance for 500 hp commuters...

I would normally just cycle, and since my goofy HD2010 makes me wait 2 minutes after being turned off to start back on high it’s kind of a requirement anyway Silly

Mine will re-start on HIGH after a 1-second ‘off’ time.

Mine definitely needs to be off for 30 seconds or so for it to start back at high, so I just cycle through the modes.

Soft press, “One mississippi… two mississippi… three mississippi”.

I’ve since modded it with a 3.5A E1320 driver, but yeah the oem UI was by far the best I have used in a Chinese-disco type.

Same here.
Some quick soft presses.

Same on my TangsFire. Or I can turn it off for 2 seconds and it will come on in high.

Can you run an XM-L direct-drive from a 26650? If so, I’ve been very happy using this driver from DX in my C8:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/5-mode-led-driver-circuit-board-for-flashli...

It (at least the sample I have) has no mode memory and always starts on a very useful medium. The next mode is a low followed by a Direct Drive high. The time to reset is very short, so you can skip the next two modes (Strobe/SOS) by waiting a second before turning the light back on. I was planning to use 105C driver but I like this driver’s arrangement so much I never replaced it…

Keepin’ the “B” in BLF

It sounds like the XM LEDs won’t really be suitable for flashlight use. Pity…

No it won’t fit LOL

As for the actual question, cycle through the modes is much easier than timing it.

I’m glad I’m not the only flashlight collector out there, I was beginning to think I was strange.
