Anybody got this light?

Anybody got this light, also is it a copy of another light?

To me this looks like a winner. Pricewise and it takes an 18650/26650/4 AAA. IMO, it has gots looks too. The buy it now price is $21.90, with the make an offer option. Of course I always have to make an offer. Most likely this light will go for $21 with free shipping. Looks good to me on paper…

I agree...it's a good looking light! Almost looks like a 980L at first glance, but with a thicker body. Heck, I'm rather interested now.

Yep, its not bad, I keep it in the truck as an emergency light.

I did a quick look at the WF950, TB-D7 and the UF980-L. They all cost more and they all only take a 18650. Whereas, this light takes 26650/18650/3 AAA…

I think I am going to pull the trigger on this for $21 with free shipping.

How did they make this copy take on all the other batteries? Open up the battery tube to accept the 26650? Just wondering, IMO, being able to use 3 different type of cells is a big plus.

It’s not bad, has a couple of flaws, read the above thread to see all our experiences. It’s only driven at about 2.2a but perfectly serviceable. AAA performance has to be seen to be believed.

Sure do………lacks good o-rings though, but once replaced it makes for a good small thrower.

Yup, I read that thead, and it almost confirms what I thought. For the money, this is a good light. Not a Caddy for Chevy money!! I want to do what Garry suggested, that is get two of them. I run all my lights on bicycles, and I want pairs. Again, after reading that thread, I will pull the trigger on this one…

thanks

My offer was accepted, $18.99 shipped for this light. Can’t beat that with a stick…

I responded to you on the other thread. I didn't even see this thread. Are you talking about press-fitting a piece of aluminum into the hollow pill when you say "I want to do what Garry suggested". I'm awaiting an email reply from Speedy Metals on the aluminum rod. They did reply that they can't turn down a rod to the desired 22.6mm diameter, only cut to length. This means I'll have to grind/file/sand down a piece of 15/16" (23.81mm).

DAMN!!!, my right hand went out of control and hit the button.
I need flashlight rehab!!

Have you considered drilling out the hole to match the rod size? it may be easier and keep better control of the circularity tolerance than reducing the rod by hand.

Well, I haven't thought of that, but I don't want to mess up the "pill" (which is part of the flashlight body, not seperate). I also need to keep the lip the driver mounts to (and driver is press-fit I believe). I figured if I mess up a piece of aluminum rod no big deal.

Got my quote from Speedy Metals -> (3) 4" pieces of 15/16" 6061-T6511 aluminum is $6.46 + $5.15 USPS (small flat rate box) for a total of $11.61. That gives me 12" total for use on other future projects. I had them cut it for easier USPS shipping. Not sure yet if I want to go this route or see what I can do with copper plumbing parts.

Hm, 5,7cm head. Thats not bad…
It looks somewhat nice too (much better than gray HD2010), price is not bad.
You say it’s well driven?

Garry, I had started this thread, without seeing the other thread. So, now I reply to both.

Shucks, I just follow you guys, I can’t go wrong!!

Thought I was the only one that noticed that. This looks way better than the dull looking HD2010 (no offense to HD2010 owners):).

The problem Ecig is with heatsinking. The light is direct drive on high (most certain) and there is very little heatsinking (i.e. little thermal path to the body) due to the emitter sitting on a lip of a hollow pill. See apt323's photos here in the other thread. It is a very nice light and very very nice on the 4AAA's, but needs attention for better heatsinking for extended use (and esp. for Li-Ion use).
