recommend me a safe (!!!) charger for 16350s, 14500s, and 18650/18700s

so far, I have been using a xtar WP2 since november 2011, it has been purrfect for my protected turstfire 18650s and XTAR 18700s; and for my protected trustifre 14500s as well. No problems, whatsoever. Now, I just have reveived a couple of protected 16350s (for me solarforce L2M), and they don’t fit (naturally, of course!).

What is the best (budget-oriented) charger you could recommend?

Oh, on a side note – I did use the search function. No pleasing replies, though; not at all.

Intellicharge I4. Works great.

I just received the Xtar SP2 True CC/CV charging for less than the pila. Unfortunately less bays than the intellicharge i4.

The TrustFire TR-003P4 is my go to charger.

It charges 4 cells at once and it has a cover to keep the dust out.

The Trustfire TR-001 works great with my 16340's so it should work just fine with your 16350's.

Also, I use 15mm aluminum spacers when using my Ultrafire WF-139 and Pila IBC.

I’ve had this charger for 6 months and it is a gem to use. It also is able to use most any battery type and size without need of spacers. Very good build quality and great charge status indicators. Never bakes your batteries and runs cool.

Get spacers for the WP2, it’s still one of the best chargers out there.

little update:

I am still using the WP2, with spacers made from brass bolts (quick and dirty!). Works flawlessly.

But also, I now have an Intellicharge i4 on order. Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

Keep the WPII. Extra spacers cost 2 for $1.

Foursevens charger.

I don’t trust a charger that will charge anything simply based on measurements.

WPII has two user-selectable current settings:0.5A and 1.0A, same as 4sevens. It is an excellent charger.

Cheapest solution.

Get (make) spacers for WP2 II, and you are all set.

Make sure you use 0.5A position when charging 14500, and 16340.

Is your charger a WP2 or a WP2 II. If its a WP2 you might want to move up to a WP2 II. Or pick up a MP2, it’s the cats ass for charging 16340s. I think anyone that uses 16340s should have one of these. It charges them at 250mA. I think it’s the finest on the market and I don’t charge my 16340s on anything else.
