AN AWESOME EDC LIGHT!!!

I am currently looking for an EDC light that could take both AA and 14500 batteries, any suggestions?

**** recommends Balder SE-1

Welcome to the forum, Lark. Have you looked at the many variety of Sipik 68s? Here is one example. I also like the I-mini from Shiningbeam.

xeno e03 with xml u2

Just got my Sky Ray S-A1 in a shipment this week.

5 modes with mode memory, takes AA or 14500.

I can't comment on durabilty yet but the beam is nice and it seems to be well-made. The tailcap button sits slightly proud, making tailstanding a little tricky. It suffers from very noticable PWM on Medium and Low, and I'm not usually someone who is bothered by this.

Your request depends somewhat on your budget. The Zebralight SC80 would certainly fit the bill, as would the foursevens quark AA models, which are apparently all rated to 4.2V. I don't own either, though I do have the Zebra SC51W and I think it's a fantastic little light. More flood than throw though.

Perhaps you need to give us a little more info about what you plan to use the light for. EDC is a bit subjective.

you can get three of these for 40USD delivered:

the link says it is an XP-E but the last batch i got were XP-G R5’s, which is consistent with the description on the site.throw one in your pocket, leave one at work, give one to your girl.

run on anything, lose it? oh well…

Don't just get any Balder SE-1 , get the neutral XML version .

Or you could wait for the next round of E1320 AA/14500 pocket rockets ...

Buy this little guy. Similar to Sipik sk68.
300 lumens with 14500 and 100 + with AA.

One of the best deals out there.

The Quark AA will UNOFFICIALLY accept both batteries.

Lighthound has a nice one for $20, it is a forward clicky.
And the “Low” is a 1% low, almost a moonlight low, which I like.

+1 nice little torch……

It's nice of you to join us, matt4960!

I’ve got the neutral white version. I like it! It’s really well-made and bright  .
The only “less than perfect” thing is that the low mode could be dimmer. It’s still quite bright.

Thanks Racoon city!
