TrustFire TR-001 car charging adapter?

When it comes time (when temps drop a bit here in Arizona) to go camping and take my torches out to the desert or the woods to light up the night, I want to be able to recharge cells if I need to while out in the boonies.

My main charger is the TR-001 for now, and it has that DC/12v port on the side of it. Does this mean there are car charger adapters available for this charger? If so, would they have the same charge rate?

Second part of my question - what would be your recommendation for a good 12v cig lighter adaptable cell charger if the TR-001 isn’t adaptable for this?

IIRC, it calls for 12V and 500mA.

Radio shack should be able to hook you up.

And is the center pin positive as it is in most equipment??

Center pin is positive, I built one for my TR-001, I’ll measure the plug tonight.

It's a very common small pin size .. I had a few laying around from radar detectors .

I was amazed how much power these chargers sucked out of a battery . I had a small 7 amp fanny pack lead acid battery pack that probably wasn't freashly charged and the tr-001 and 2 panasonics tried to kill it ..It knocked it down pretty hard, pretty badly.

full size battery ..No problem

This is the one I bought.

1.00mm inner diameter, 3.5mm outer diameter.
