spell check

any chance of spell check

i have word blindnes [Dyslexia] you would not beleve how much time it takes me or any one else with this to put a small post together i get my good lady to check my spelling before ii post

which is not allways poible so i have to strugle with spelling and hope you guys understand me [30 mins to do this ]

Yup, there's a plug-in for drupal here. But it's up to Mr. Admin if he wants to implement it. The only thing you have now is the red squiggly lines under misspelled words (actually, that may be the plug-in in action, I'm not sure). Either way, most folks here are pretty laid back on things such as spelling and grammar, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Also consider a good percentage here use english as a second language, so slip ups aren't uncommon.

Or get a Mac - the recent ones have this built in.

But it is hardly a budget solution.

Are you using a Mac? If so, the line comes from the system software..

No Sir... Vista. Using Google Chrome as the browser, might be coming from there. Either way it's rather handy at times.

Yeah Chrome has a built in spell check, just right click and choose the right spelling. Either Firefox does by default too or it had a plugin, haven't set it up in a while.

i have spell check on my computer but it dose not work on this site

i have no problems with it working on other sites

My firefox spell check needs to be manually turned on each time I compose a message on BLF, not so on other sites. (right click -> spell check)

Hmm, odd, I just noticed that too, is the any way to change that? I notice that it is automatically enabled if you disable rich text.

BTW scruffy dog , I am dyslexic too.

Hmmm this is an interesting issue. Thanks for mentioning it. The post editor offers built-in spellchecking, but I disabled it because I found the browser spellchecker to work better. But you're right, it's disabled by default on Firefox. Not sure why. Let me look into it. Thanks for bringing this up!

Hi Mr Admin

i have solved my problem

at the bottom of the comments section we post in it says Disable rich-text if i click on this and then do a spell check it works

OHH Boy you will all be fed up hearing from me know you wont be able to shut me up

the main reason i don't post much is because of my difficulty with spelling but thats fixed now

Barrie

Hi Barrie, thanks for letting me know. Another thing you can do is right click in Firefox and enable spellchecking. It should be enabled by default though, I'm currently trying to fix that issue.

Very nice feature for all of us who do not have english as our language.

Can choose between english language and my own, which I dont need

here obviously.

Aloha Barrie! You don't have to worry about that kind of nitpicky stuff around here. Everyone here is nice unlike other forums we all know of. So post away Barrie....post away.

We were all just joking around. Some people just don't have a sense of humor. :D
