Test / Review: AW IMR 18350 700mAh (Red)

AW IMR 18350 700mAh (Red)

Official specifications:

  • Nominal Voltage : 3.7V
  • Capacity : 700mAH
  • Lowest Discharge Voltage : 2.50V
  • Standard Charge : CC/CV ( max. charging rate 2A )
  • Cycle Life : > 500 cycles
  • Max. continuous discharge rate : 6A
  • Operating Discharge Temperature : -10 - 60 Degree Celsius
  • Dimensions : 18.15 x 34.82 ( +/-0.05)mm

This is a high current battery, it has about the same lengths as a CR123 battery, but larger diameter.

The cell has no problems with high currents.

Conclusion

Two of these batteries can be used to replace one 18650 (Watch the length) to get double voltage, but the capacity will be low and there is no protection, i.e. be very careful when doing this.
I will rate this battery as good.

Thanks very much HKJ! Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.

Thanks for the review, I use this size for e-cigs not for flashlights, I only have a pair from bestinone not the AW, and also on the way the efest ones I bought it from ebay because bestinone is not working, they were a bit cheaper.

I do also have some on the way from efest and will test them when they arrive.

Thanks (again!) for the review and testing. It's nice to see a cell with greater than advertised capacity for a change.

Do you have any idea as to the origin of this cell, or best guess of the brand ?

The ones I ordered are the V2 with nipple, let’s see how good they are with your review, because I do not have the tools nor the knowledge to do it that good.

No.

Which efest cells did you order? 18350 only or also 14500?

A bit of everything: 16340/14500/18350.

I Have just been trying some Efest. On the whole they seem to be on a par with AW. Some a bit better, some a bit below.

I have received the efest ones, I cannot tell exactly about their performance, on my ecig they are giving the same numbers in terms of amps, which is 3.5A, I can’t tell yet about the mAh, I do not have a hobby charger to know it with exactitude.

Thanks HKJ!
