SOLD - Black AA Maglite with an XM-L T6 3C and a TIR optic - US or International, ship anywhere.

SOLD

Up for sale is this Black 2AA Maglite. It is done the same as the Red one I just finished not too long ago. It has a copper heatsink with an XM-L T6 3C tint, Direct Drive. The optic is from CNQG and is their version of a narrow TIR for XM-L. You can refer to the build thread for the Red one, this one is done the same way.

I am running it on 2AA Alkalines and it's Darned Bright! Here's a couple photos of it.

bk1

Basic black light with stock sheath

bk2

Top end showing the TIR, the centering ring and the polished top of the bezel.

bk3

The top of the tail cap is polished too.

ISO 200, Daylight WB, Aperture F:2.7, Shutter 1 Second. For all photos.

bkb2

bkb3

bkb4

Did I say this was bright? 2AA Alkalines, no driver, not too shabby.

I will provide a "Dummy AA", in case you want to use a 14500 in this light.

SOLD

Price is $30USD (CONUS) and $35USD International.

Payment is PayPal   valleau (insert @ sign here) suddenlink.net is my PayPal addy.

First person posting "I'll take it", followed by payment and a PM to me, will own this light.

Thank you,

Justin Valleau

I have thought about it, but it's just a thought right now. I am going to do Three more lights fairly soon, but unfortunately, those three will be USA themed (2AA USA flag Maglites). They will all have Nichias in them and TIR optics.

I am sure I will make a few more of these lights during the winter and sell them for anyone that wants one, but I just don't know how many or when. It's got to stay as a hobby for me, or I won't want to do it any more. One of my strange ways...

Not strange at all, that’s how hobbies work. Smile I’m glad you can do something you enjoy and still make a buck or two and also offer something special to lucky BLF members.

This is actually a good example of how you can further improve an already simple mod. This is like "Match's Mods: 15min mini mag mod" but it doesnt even require a drill or drill press, just some copper stuff, soldering iron and patience.

Well done OL. Smile

I cant wait to check it out. I’m becoming a big fan of your work. I’ve subscribed to your you tube channel. I hope to put some of the tricks I’ve learned from watching your builds to use for myself soon. Thanks again.

You know, I haven't done a video this year? I need to get back into it again and do a video of the tail switch and this AA mod as well.

I received the light today. Very nicely done. It was nice bonus to see the new video you posted on youtube. I compared it with two other 2xAA lights I have, a stock Maglite LED, and a Fenix L2D Q5, all with fresh batteries. It blows the stock maglight LED out of the water, and because its an incandescent body its about a half inch shorter. The L2D tint looks blue compare with the pretty much white light coming off the XML T6 3C. The L2D on turbo has a tighter hotspot which can be seen inside the hotspot of this light, but it cant keep up with the volume of light coming out of OL’s original. Thanks OL for a great light.
