Heh, I did not manage to register on CPF but i suspect i would have not lasted long there. Fortunately found BLF long before bothering to do so.

A "That Place" ban comes close to a badge of honour.
Not sure if any of the ID's I've used there still exist. Nor do I care. I got thoroughly sick of fascist politics pretending to be torch enthusiasm. If your political viewpoint was even slightly to the left of Atilla the Hun's then you got censored/banned. Any criticism of the Tea Party is an instant ban. (3 ID's and counting)
Or the REALLY important issue (More than 5 IDs) - criticising any of the folks who give them money.
AW cells are not the best you can buy. Not even close.
You can spend a lot less money than Don McLeish (McGizmo) asks for and get better. Though his lights are nice if your tastes run that way. Mine don't.
Or what Mr. Bulk asks. Though his lights are seriously nice.

I can build good dropins without a machine shop!! Had McLux's-sold 'em... too paranoid about loss/damage.
The real question is-what batteries do you use? Been happy with AW's so far.

I joined CPF rather a long time ago ( I was going to check but it's currently down) I was quite active there for a couple of years and it seemed to be a nice place.
I didn't log in for a couple of years for various reasons, but when I did it was just a completely different place...one that didn't feel at all welcoming.
Which is more or less why I ended up here, so a good result really :)

Y'all are gonna like this. I thought I read all the notes, instructions, demands, links, rings of fire, etc. and I probably didn't answer "What color is a lemon" and Medusa didn't approve my membership. Are you serious? So I sent her an email. Yeah, I got a big set. If you haven't seen the process one has to go through before you get to email the Evil Empress, you should try it. I was shaking my head the entire time going "do you REALLY want to be part of this?" I didn't. But I wanted to annoy the crap out of her so I emailed her politely asking why my posts had not been added. No response. What an a**. LOL
And you guys welcomed me with open arms. This place is SO accepting of flashlightaholic drifters I feel right at home. Thanks everyone!

Wow....I just read the rant. That's probably the most unprofessional thing I've seen in a long time. The ironic thing is, they still trumpet is as the friendliest flashlight site on the internet...I'll copy and paste it here to save anyone else from having to dirty their internet cashe and history with that ip address:
