verosale.com

Ordered a light from these guys on the 18th of August, which shipped out on the 25th. After waiting about a month or so for it to arrive, I contacted Verosale via the form on their website, after which a few days passed with no response. At that point I contacted them by email directly, but still received no response. This was all before the Chinese holidays started. Irritated at being ignored, I opened a Paypal dispute on the 30th of September. Paypal gave Verosale until the 10th of October to respond, but also heard nothing from them. The case has just now been decided in my favour and my money has been recovered. The light I ordered has still, of course, not arrived (if it had I would have closed the dispute immediately).

I understand that a single bad experience is no real indicator of the overall quality of a seller, but it seems unusually easy to find reports about Verosale that are similar to mine. I’ll be avoiding them in the future.

By the way, if the light actually ends up arriving (it cost US $9.99), do you think I should pay them the money again? I have what I consider to be a pretty well-developed sense of fairness and ethics, but they’ve also failed to provide even a bare minimum of customer service, which from my perspective translates to them no giving a shit about their customers.

**Verosale delivery times are really bad. I ordered a light from them and it took 42 days before it arrived.

I have a feeling your light might still be on the way.

Hello Cainn, good to know you managed to get your money back.

I also have had bad experiences with verosale. My first purchase with them actually went ok earlier this year when the flashlight took about 1 month to arrive. My second purchase was not so lucky. I contacted them through customer service when I had not received my light after about 1 month. Their response was to ask me to wait a few more weeks. They also gave me a tracking number giving all the tracking info in chinese which I can’t read. They ended the email by saying they would give me a discount on my next purchase (should have known something was wrong when I saw this).

I waited a couple of weeks before contacting them again. This time I got no response at all. I went on trying to contact them 2 or 3 more times, all of which were ignored completely. Of course, by this time Paypal won’t give me a refund because it was past 45 days since my transaction.

Lastly, when I looked at the name of the seller in Paypal, I noticed it was the same name as another website (redsport.net) from which I have recently purchased another light. Of course, I got worried so I decided to check on my purchase. Lo and behold, there was something fishy going on there as well: The website seems like it is totally closed down. All that comes up are some random ads when I try to access the site. I can’t contact the seller at all.

I have put in an early claim with Paypal. Hopefully I will get a refund on my second light at least. Sad

Sorry for the long rant. It’s just very frustrating.

No need to apologize for sharing your experiences, as that’s what this thread is about.

The 45 day cutoff for Paypal claims makes shopping with Chinese sellers who ship slowly a tricky business. You’re often presented with the dilemma of deciding whether or not you should open a claim before the time runs out in order to protect yourself when, in fact, there might just be a further postal delay. In my case I was indeed running out of time.

I’d like to see Paypal increase the window to 60 days.

In this instance I only won the dispute because the seller failed to respond to Paypal. It was a victory by default, but I think the best outcome would have been if Paypal’s intervention had woken the seller out of their inappropriate slumber, but it didn’t work. Verosales service really needs to improve.

For the record, my light hasn’t arrived, and after all this time, I don’t expect it to.
