Naithawk M.1 - Magnetic ring 4 mode, no strobe, $47

Heres one that was mentioned before, and not a pure budget light, but it does have the features of a well designed light IMO.

My opinions so far from what I've read about it

- Pretty good looking torch, not excessive in its design, with a pretty balanced and clean look about it

- Looks like it Tailstands positively, with a rubber boot forward clicky.

- Has 4 output modes. High 260, med 130, low 50, micro 3, runtimes are quoted as 4, 10, 20, 100 (I wont trust any of these figures both output and runtime. Inconsistent across different sites, etc...)

- Has a standy mode on the ring - so use of the switch isnt always necessary. (so 5 positions on the ring)

- uses 18650! yeah!

Im very interested in this light as it seems to be quite promising interms of its UI design, and the overall appearance. Magnetic ring UIs are very intuitive, the only possible setback is the need to keep the ring clear of sand/grit/dust.

What do you guys think?

Appears I cant edit the first post??

Heres some links to the torch.

It looks cool but the price is just too much for me.

I wish you guys would stop finding lights I'd like to have. :)

I manage to find far more than I can afford without any help!!! :P

Well, actually, do keep finding them. Oner day I'll be able to afford them..

This kind of posts cost me another hundred dollars in two days. I always wanted a ring controlled flashlight. This one looks really good. Might even better than a Sunwayman thinking of the price and bigger battey.

But i really do wonder what a microwave producing device (Which is what a magnetron is) is doing in a torch. Yes - I do know what they mean and it isn't a magnetron.

So you caught that one too, Don :) And I were sceptical about just that "Nait"hawk name.

Could be worse. Round here seagulls are known as "shitehawks" because of their diet of garbage. Stick an S in front of the name and just about everyone in Scotland would wet themselves laughing - and not buy it.

The Sunwayman equivalent of this is $67 from HK

Has a strobe mode as the top mode, and no standby position on the ring. Other than the Hex part, I like the look of the SWM, but its pushing the price again.

Now that looks pretty sharp. It looks better to me than the Naithawk light.

Oh, I saw that Sunwayman for $83 at Goingear and just skipped it. HKEquipment sells this for $16 lower. And might be just under my psylogical barrier of $69.99 :)

great looking light

to bad about the tints ..

I hate a bad tint

Sunwayman M20C is cheaper by one dollar at Solarforcestore :)

This is the R2 version. R5 is $1 more expensive :) Both sold under the same name. R2 For Throw and R5 For Flood.

R2 version also has reverse ring direction, Older model.

I dont know about the tint on this one though.. But most sunwaymans have had average tints, either cold sst-50s or slightly greenish crees. Could always just not buy one.. haha!
