I don’t know if this is the smallest one made, but it’s a full inch shorter than the A8.
It’s begging to be modded, as it only puts out a couple hundred lms.
But a hefty driver with a U2 led could make this an impressive multi-use light.
Don’t know what the general pricing will be for this, but it’s currently $27.20 at DX.

I don’t think it could charge an ipad.
DrJones:
I just ordered it…
Ah, the infamous DrJones i’ve heard so much about.
I’m looking forward to what you can find out about this.
I’m already starting to kick around ideas. I saw this 5A driver in another thread here:
5A 16.7mm circuit board
And I happen to have a U2 light I could swap out an led from.
It looks small enough to keep in a front pants pocket.
I expect somewhere along the way i’d get the classic line of “is that a flashlight in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?”.

Why not, a 26650 can easily supply a few amps.

My mistakes. I thought it was an 18650. iPads are different though. You can’t charge them off a computer USB2

thats cool… It looks like a 1x26650 battery tube for the TRJ12/18.
Something like this would be a MUST-HAVE with an Iphone (and its pathetic battery life).
Is the cell removable? If so can the tailcap be unscrewed slightly to safely lock out power?
Parasidic drain in E-switch lights like this drives me nuts.
Awesome music in the video!

This claims USB output is 1500mAh so it should be good enough to charge a tablet. PC USB ports put out only 500mAh which is not enough for a tablet.

Thanks JohnnyMac.
I’ve been looking at this one at Intl-Outdoor. Now I’m undecided.
I wonder how much drain an ipad would use with a single battery setup.

and I might get one someday but what would really float my boat would be if something like this came with a built-in flip-up cap mechanism that would protect those ports. Kinda like what you see on rifle scopes and such. Heck I would even settle for a screw on o-ringed cap with a clicky boot on the cap’s outside which would activate the inner clicky boot. Of course said cap would be affixed with some sort of tether so ya wouldn’t lose it so easy. Actually it doesn’t even have to be a metal screw-in cap. I’d be ok enough with just a tethered silicon type cap for that matter.
