Prayers for Hurricane Sandy

Sorry if this is against forum rules, but I feel it is too important to ignore.

I just want to say all you guys and your families are in my thoughts and prayers. As well as everyone in the path of the storm.

I pray to our dear Father in heaven that HE may bring you through this time of trial safe and sound.

I pray that you and your families may be safe, comfortable and warm for the duration.

I pray especially for those at high risk and for the police, ambulance and rescue teams, doctors and nurses that may be called to service.

I pray for those who may not survive, that they may find peace in God’s loving arms.

May the love of God, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all, to strengthen and support you. In His name we pray, Amen

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

thanks everyone – its bad here in ct, not as bad as in nyc or nj… but its not a nice feeling to hear wind like this and wonder if your roof over your head is going to hold… makes me wonder just how bad some people are getting hit with this at the center…. stay safe everyone

Would you mind keeping the wrong flashlight?
Best wish, May

I have family in New York, and I haven’t been able to be in contact with them being halfway around the world. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for them. Hope everyone on BLF stays safe during the storm.

I’m confused. The storm is an “act of God” yet we pray to God not to get smashed by his storm. Wouldn’t it save everyone a lot of time if God just didn’t create these killer storms in the first place?

I suppose if someone dies, it will be “God’s will”. I for one plan to hold God responsible for any damages.

I don't have the slightest idea what it was but I'm thinking that the camera was adjusted for nightvision so it seemed brighter than it was. I think if it really was that big the news would have mentioned it. (I've been watching the news the past 4 hours)

Edit: After watching it over again my current theory is a transformer blew, those things can be pretty impressive when they go.

Whatever it was, I want a flashlight that is as bright with a big, deep reflector.

All of my deck furniture is tied together. I have a giant pile of furniture moving around my deck for the last 3 hours. Power is on, cable/inet is out. On iPad over wireless hotspot via blackberry.

I sure hope the wind stops soon or I don’t think we’ll have much siding left on the house. Smile

Stop at 0:31.

Compare the streetlights against the white light.

The difference is very big.

It’s probably just a wee bit brighter than what you can see with your eyes, if you check out 0:01s.

Rode it out so far here in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (Near Lancaster), Had to stay up in shifts all night in case we needed to fire up generator, but power has stayed.
Quite a few homes in my township without power, next door neighbor lost a pretty good sized tree.
I have not ventured out yet to see surrounding area.

For being where the eye passed very near us, I feel Blessed.
Thanks for the prayers and continue to pray for those hardest hit in NY.

We follow your struggles, that’s all we can at the moment. Our thoughts are with you.

Stay safe!

I hope as many people as possible make it thru okay. On youtube the video says it’s The initial explosion at the Con Ed Plant, E14th and FDR in New York City.
