Charging a 9V battery with maha c9000?

Would it be possible to charge/ discharge a 9 volt ni- mh 280 mah battery using a leads/ adapters etc with my maha c9000. I expect I would need to set the charging/ discharging rate low. I was thinking of getting a 9volt battery fitting and attaching the positive / neg wires to the correct terminals on the maha? I have magnets. I do have an old energiser 9volt charger that seems to take more than 24 hours to charge them. Im not sure how long as I pulled them out after 24 hours.

I just checked the voltage of a previously charged 9 volt battery. Now showing 1.1 volt after a week of non use. Looks like its stuffed.

they are BTY's from dx. Probably only 180 mah knowing dx.

Its probably easier to buy a 9v charger or maybe a hobby charger. I would still like to know if it is possible.

No it's not possible - the C9000 is only capable of charging single cells.

Cheers
