CR2 Battery and chargers... Why not?

I was hanging around on Ebay and i found a flashlight that use CR2 battery and my first question was “Why CR123 is used and CR2 not?”.
Capacity is almost the same and CR2 is smaller! There are also (few) rechargeable CR2 battery, so what’s the problem with that?
So i decided to try!
Now i need advice:

- CR2 flashlight?

- CR2 Rechargeable battery?

  • Charger for CR2 battery (with 2 indipendent channel)?

I see some surefire and nitecore, Ultrafire CR2 rcr battery and xtar Mp2… Any other options??

There is a little Aurora SH-32 or 33, don’t recall. I have it, it’s a great little light and cheap. I think Don mentioned last year sometime.

Your idea about CR is wrong, they only have about half the energy of a CR123 and are nearly as big.

And you can get flashlights with CR2 batteries:

I am not sure a rechargeable CR2 size LiIon will fit in all the lights.

To recharge CR2 size LiIon, I would look at cottonpickers chargers.

The Xtar MP2 is probably the best choice for charging CR2.

There are dedicated CR2 chargers out there - I have a couple of them from original Orb Raws I’ve bought.

They probably cost about $3 once you find a source.

I like CR2 lights.

I have a really beat up looking Quark HI CR CR2 mini that’s been on my keychain for years.

Thanks everyone for the answer… I have always something to learn on BLF! Fortunately there is always someone that has the patience to give me my “lesson”!
Thanks again!

I bought third party CR2 battery holders for my Arc LS lights — they’re very convenient, a lot smaller in the pocket than even the twisty CR123 battery case.
I’d like to see someone make a CR2 case for the BLF MINI light.
