Trying something different...

As some of you may know, I'm really into macro photography and always like to have a good intro shot for my reviews. However, given my readers are my main audience after all, I wanted to try something different for my next review (SHADOW SL3) and that is I want you guys to vote for the intro shot.

Given there are a few choices here, I decided to embed thumbnails rather than suck up bandwidth with full size pics (however you can click on them to access larger sizes). Also, certain pics may look nearly identical but the focus point is different (and correspondingly, the bokeh as well):

(NOTE: No, it's not that blue... As with all my pics where the LED is on, the WB is set for the background and the light itself and not what's being emitted out the front thus the O.D. blue from the emitters)

Given these are small enough, I suppose to vote, just copy and paste the one you like the best. I'll give this a few days to see how it goes.

Cheers,
Tim

I like P1050522, or the second one.

It shows the reflector, and the shape of the light. Most people are interested in the reflector in multi-emitter lights, so I give that one my vote.

Thx, and that feedback is valuable as well. As always, I strive to improve my reviews to make them as relevant as possible (and INDY, seriously man, thanks for pointing out the "With that said"... I went back and watched some of my old videos and yeah... it got pretty annoying after the 100th time... lol).

I like 1,2 or 3, but 3 is the best. Good composition, good view of the flashlight body and side switch, plus a peek at the reflector and output.

There all fantastic pics. Just an idea; Perhaps you select the pics most appropriate for the given
subject or flashlight. Use the pics attached to create a subset for reviews. As we become a bit more familiar with each focus point requests for pics can be precise as well as outcome.

I like them all but if I had to choose.................

and lighting system/setup are you using. thanks
jensen

Thx guys, keep 'em coming!

@jfalk1 - currently two, both Panny DMC's: LX5 for review shots due to the f/2.0 aperature for great bokeh and the FZ150 for the beamshots and vids. Lighting is just an Ikea fluorescent desk lamp and a floor standing one. Backdrop is simply a large white cardboard paper on the desk (or sometimes just the desk).

Bump! I'll likely have this posted over the weekend so please cast your vote if you haven't already.

Thx!,
Tim

Final bump. :)

This!

The some pictures have a big head which is not so good for product photography.
