I just spotted this new torch
Nitecore MH2A 2XAA 600LM USB CHARGING FLASHLIGHT
It uses a dedicated battery or two AA. I can’t find anything on youtube about this new MH series of Nitecore lights with USB charging.

I know there is an add for it on CPF.

The dedicated battery is a Li ion the size of two AAs put together.

Nice use of a micro USB port! Is that a first? I really like it.

On a translated German site they say it can take two 14500. This is all unsubstantiated rumor, but if it did, it would be the first.

OMG, 600 lumens…
But the battery is Li-ion, not NiMh so… it will work with 2xAA nimh? and give 600 lumens? not…

It will run on NiMh, but not at that output.

And anyone knows the output with 2xAA NiMh?

Very nice looking tool, lumens might be a touch optimistic, but at 75 bucks I can resist it!, (for now)
Running on 2x14500 would be rare, but not running on that voltage range. My Klarus NT20 will run on 1x li-ion or 2x RCR which is sort of the same thing.
My Solarforce XM-L U2 drop in also runs upto 9v and will work with 2x lithium primary AA’s (1.5v each).

With 2AA I believe it will output 280 lumens if not less. Would be nice to see a full review.

The Nitecore MH2A dedicated battery (NL1427) seems to be especially build for this torch. Which might be a double-long 14500 or a "141000". A very unique design choice and a very unappealing one for me.
Anyone get the battery? I was excited for a 141000 when I saw the pic, but on second look, it just seems to be two 14500s shrink wrapped together.

If it’s 2 x 14500 how do you keep the cells balanced?
I assume the flashlight would balance charge them.
According to Nitecore the battery is 3.7V
Possibly two 14500s in a crazy parallel setup?

That’s quite a voltage range if it will run on two nimh or 2 liion
