Who has the cheapest U2 stars these days (with dependable delivery and quality stock of course)?
I have ordered from lck-led in the past. Anyone cheaper?

Good question. I’m pondering that right now as I look at lck. U2 or 2 samolas more for a u3?
But that brings up another question. Keeping the light’s existing driver, will substituting a u3 over a u2 make supposedly any NOTICEABLE brightness diff? I tried pulling one u2 and adding a u3, and couldn’t really see any big-deal diff. Then again, I had to pull the existing u2, so I didn’t have a u2 light to compare the new u3 with. It wasn’t enough to change the light-meter reading. It might have been a hair brighter but certainly not a “oh-my-god” difference. Then again, who knows what driver this thing has.
I was going to try a couple more u3s from lck, but don’t want to spend the extra money if there’s like a 2% difference because the u3s are $2.x more each. So maybe I should say: Anyone know a place cheaper than lck for U2s AND u3s? 
I would not expect any noticeable difference between a U2 and U3, but I don't have either to compare.

Unfortunately, with DD, it doesn’t matter what they say, they’ll send you something else entirely. And then when you complain, they will give you $1 gift cert because you got a “Go Romney” door mat instead of emitters. I’m DDD …. Done with dino direct. But thanks for the suggestions!
Illumination supply has the U2 1A for $6.50 and since they are in Saratoga, Ca. You would get them in just a few days.
Ordered a couple of XML-U2’s from DD after this post. There are nice XPG R5 drop-ins for $6-$7 too. I may use these for my mods.

Mr. Duck, sir, that is indeed a nifty idea. Ordered three from lck already (darrn, I just can’t control that mouse finger), I also did three more from Illumination supply to tide me over.
In the meantime, I stuck a u2 that I thought was toasted (wasn’t) and a driver (a hand-me-down from a generous BLFer) and one of my once dead lights is now one of my brightest.
I love it when that happens!!!
Maybe those u2s really are brighter than T6s, even with older drivers. Hmmmm.

Well, with lck, it’s their pick. Either 1a or 1c. You don’t know what you get until it gets here.

Keep the suggestions coming if you have any. I’m sure these suppliers will come in handy for some confused soul such as myself, searching for the world’s best and cheapest led supplier.
1. Go to taobao, search for your emitters!
2. Use a taobao agent, and order through them… takes a bit of time, but if you buy a few, that will probably be the cheapest option for you.

thats about $2.8 per star… take in account that you have to pay double shipping.
about 1 dollar to send it to the Agent. Then you have to pay shipping from the agent to you.
if you order 5 or so, that would be your cheapest option!
while you`re at it, you might want to order a few more things that they have.
(stay with the same sellers, because otherwise you keep on paying more and more for shipping from the sellers to the agent)
