Test / Review: Intl-outdoor NCR18650B 3400mAh (Black)

Intl-outdoor NCR18650B 3400mAh (Black)

Official specifications:

  • Panasonic 18650 Protected Battery
  • Protected against Overdischarge, Overcharge and Short-circuit
  • Capacity: 3400mAh
  • Recommended Max Discharge: 6.8A (2C)
  • Full charge: 4.2V
  • Nominal voltage: 3.6V
  • Cut-off: 2.5V
  • Size: 68.9mm (length) * 18.5mm (diameter)

This is the latest cells from Panasonic with the highest capacity.
The cell used can be discharged down to 2.5 volt, in my test I only discharges to 2.8 volt, i.e. I do not measure the full capacity. But then, not all lights will be able to use the full capacity.

Very nice tracking between the two batteries and these batteries are good at both low and higher current.

Conclusion

This battery has higher capacity and better high current capacity than its predecessor (3100mAh/NCR18650A).
With the added protection it is a very good battery.

Thanks for the review.
I have bought 4 of these. I thought the driver in my SkyRay STL-V2 was toast so I ordered a new driver, but when putting these batteries in the flashligth, it worked again…
My old batteries that worked for a few months in STL-V2 was Ultrafire 3000mah (red) and Palight 3000mah (yellow). They still work in other flashlights.

Still made by Keeppower? Definitely excellent batteries.

Those are terrible batteries to be honest. I would only use them in now series lights and keep a very close eye on them.

Thanks for the great review HKJ as always top notch!

Thanks very much for the review! Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.

I got 4 more of those 3400mah yesterday and also 4 soshine 2800mah from lightmalls that i will try out, so now i can discharge the ultrafires and then give them to someone I don’t like

Do these work in the Skyray King or any Nitecore Tiny Monsters? Anybody with experience?
