Nice new EDC 18650 light at DX

I just noticed this new light at DX: Ultrafire SH-F12 XM-L

Seems to be good quality with OP reflector, anodized threads etc.

Also available as black:

I'm highly tempted to buy this. Not sure about which color to choose..

Try the gold one!

Looks good

It looks nice and I like the lanyard, but I prefer this

For a few dollars more, just built mine.

Better for a $1 more

Def worth a buck more considering the dx waiting game…

Well.. It's over $5 more and wasn't the Roche having problems with protected batteries?

Yes, I’ve read that there are some issues with the Roche. I believe that gold ultrafire looks sick!

What about this one?

Yes, my Roche F12 is very fussy about batteries - in the end I bought a Sanyo 2600mAh unprotected cell from Hank at the same time I got the light. Too wide, or too long cells wont fit. Shame really, but it’s a nice floody light.

I don’t think I linked to the Roche. The one I linked takes all my cells…

Roche F12 is definitely finicky. Of all my cells (all protected), only my Trustfire Flames 3000 will fit. Solarforce protected cells will squeeze in there but I won't use them as I fear the wrapper is going to tear.

It is truly remarkable, how hard it is to measure a battery, then machine a flashlight body that can house it.
One would think it is granted - personally about 30% of my “better budget” flashlights are ruined because of this feat… :frowning:

This one does looks pretty good quality from the pics. I see square threads too.

Yeah.. I started using unprotected cells only. If you have a reliable driver or take measurements regularly, its fine. I only have 2 protected cells, for my cheap-o lights I sometimes lend to people.

Does the Roche have low batteru warning?

Man I really like the design of the Roche.

Yes, Roche has a low warning, so not too bad using unprotected cells. Haven’t used it long enough to find out when it kicks in,but it should be there.

my pink sanyo cells fit the roche 12. its a nice light and all, but mine came with a next mode memory which i highly hate purchased from cnquality goods.
they told me to make a video and we’ll work from there…i hope they resolve it.

I like the Roche F12 design too. I have build some into a laser. :)

I bought the Intl-Outdoors light with the XP-G2 emitter. The service was fast, it has an excellent ‘low’, and I am very pleased. Fit & finish is better than I expected, and I can find no deficiencies whatever.

What’s with the forums predilection for square threads? Give me properly cut standard threads any day.
