I guess I have to stop by in this section for my first post 
I’ve been a lurker for awhile here and on CPF.
My love of flashlights were given from my older brother. My first flashlight he gave me when I was 7 or 8 years old was a 2 AAs red everready flashlight with a white switch. Wich I still have
Then my brother move on to the Maglite madness, beginning of the ’90, I think. 3D to 5D, 3C to 6C, he have them all. As for me, I settle for 3D, 4D.
We kept it that way for a few years, until 4 or 5 years ago I discovered the “MXDL 3W” flashlight. WOW. That fire inside me started to burn again!!
I discovered the CPF forum, wich I found the members a little bit intimidating. All those Pelican and others 100$ and plus flashlights were out of reach for me at that time. And I couldnt get any help from any member regarding my questions on “basic” flashlights (read dealextreme’s flashlights).
But I kept an eye on CPF, but as CPF were often offline, I found this forum. I’ve been lurking around and I, IMHO, see members here are more down to earth and friendly. Feel good to lurk here
I’ve learned alot here, really I did. Difference between akaline and NIMH, lumens vs throw.
I’m a computer tech guy, I like high end computer hardware. But no knowledge in the electrical department. I just start learning the “draw” and this like that, here on this forum.
