Why the need to destroy? At the absolute very least, there's three usable XM-L stars in there.

before you destroy it..Might as well try running it on 2 cells and finally one cell. If you cant
make contact with 1 or 2 cells your SRK is a door knob. Good to hear you have a replacement
in the mail..

Send it to me, and I will destroy it for you. I promise. I will even pay the postage costs for the privilege.

I think he needs to destroy it to prove he’s not doing this for his own gain. Such a waste though…

The prospect of such destruction is emotionally unpleasant to me. I feel like we need to save it somehow.

How would an average person destroy an aluminum tube built for strength?

I can think of many ways, but I don’t want to discuss them. It’s all too tragically morbid.

A solder blob across the terminal, and 4 ultrafire batteries might just do it.

(Do the above in reverse and you even qualify for darwin award!)

I made lionheart_2281 a decent monetary offer in a bid to save it. I’m probably not the only one either. Hell, if he prefers, I’ll send the money to Ric instead.

I’ll test , fix , even mod it..
I’ll put three .308 rounds thru the prosperous of each XML, and send you a cop of the video.

I must destroy it and provide photo evidence, sorry.
I know it’s a waste, but I’m an honest guy!
Plus RIC has been good about this, I’m not going abuse his trust.

Just discuss with Ric about cainn's offer, how he's willing to buy the body and pay him. Why should he refuse that?

Anywhere else, sellers ONLY need video of the item being faulty. Just video everything from beginning, test battery with voltmeter, insert battery, tighten fully, then click to turn on. That's enough proof.

Ric should not ask you to destroy the light. Just get the video done and discuss with him of a better action. He can actually recoupe some loss by taking on Cainn's offer. And take care of environment too in a small miniscule way, but nevertheless, it's something.

If you are going to destroy, perhaps you could do something like a “gradual strength test”? like running a car over it, or dropping from increasing height etc, until the body finally breaks?

Recieved my new black SRK today, had the logo, box, lanyard, instructions, spare O rings, the lot.

Tested it with my Panny 18650’s, works perfectly.

Thanks RIC, you’ve done well second time around.
