How is the server speed on BLF?

Hi everyone,

My internet connection is always slow and unreliable, so I have no idea how well this site performs.  Those of you who have an internet connection faster than 128 kbps how well does this site perform?  Page loading times?  Have you every found it offline or unresponsive?

Thanks for your comments and tips!

Briefly. Just assumed something being rebooted and went back 5 minutes later. No problems here.

No issues with loading speed that I remember - I usually get about 5-8mbits/sec.

The numbers from my light tests are always to be found here.

Good.  I'm fairly satisfied with this webhost.  Hopefully it'll withstand any influx of visitors that we'll undergo in the near future.

90% of the time I’m viewing from my iPhone. I NEVER have problems except for the iPhone glitch where if the search box is missing, I have to turn on airplane mode and off again to get the page working. It seems to be related to google search and there’s no cure for it except restarting the phone or turning off cellular then back on.

never fear shadows…it means a light shines nearby

I saw sb’s post about having 128k and I was like whaaa, then saw the date. Hopefully it’s faster than that, now. Although, my first post-56k internet connection was ISDN 128K and it was flippin fast. The latency was amazing. Even people who had 1mbps DSL were impressed. Then we got a T1 and it was even better. Then we ditched the T1 in favor of a wireless connection with higher throughput, but the latency was trash.

An 11 year old NecroBump. Bring out your dead…
For me all is well unless someone decides they need 25, 20Mp photos. Then I just don’t bother unless it’s something I’m really interested in.
Link to something with like 1600 pixels across at most for the good of us all.
All the Best,
Jeff

My company uses a EU VPN and BLF is one of the fastest forums I use. (so the content travels from the US to EU and then on to my location).

I agree completely.

Most of the images that I post are 1600 pixels long or shorter.

They look great on my screen, but it might not look so hot for someone with a 4K monitor.
