200 lumens/watt, it's here! Cree MK-R

*Cough*Cough*

Well God Damnit, I missed that.

Thanks to both of you for the laugh. I can hardly type for laughing! I needed that too!!! THANKS!

Dan.

So… how big is this compared to other crees?

It’s says 7x7mm right there. 2mm bigger than XM-L, with four dies like MC-E or EZwhite.

I like the big 3.9mm thermal pad. Now if only chinese reflow’ers understand the purpose of it… I’ve unsoldered two stars (XM-L, XR-E) without any solder on the mid pad. I figured they think since the LED works without it, might as well save some solder?

No wonder we’re seeing not-so-good MCPCB performance.

I hope the world does not end tomorrow lol, I would love to see this led

it ends at 11:59pm.

and begins again at 00:00

When Bose spit out that bit of capitolized cursing! Rules? What rules?

I am so broke, and I need a new flashlight, it the new one got old before it came, yet…or was that yesterday, it is still today?? Tomorrow, I want my mommie…

Everybody get their largest frosted reflectors out.

Missed it hell, you posted in it. Getting old and forgetful, eh?

I posted in it after I posted this topic and scaru pointed out to me that it already existed.

I got an email the other day from led supply and they will be stocking the MK-R soon.

What we need is a driver that will let it be run from a li-ion

Running a 15W LED from single Li-Ion isn’t the greatest idea. With it’s die size it’s asking for a big reflector anyways, so it’d do much better in a 3x18650 / 4x18650 Sky Ray King-like form factor.

Doesn’t have to be 15W, I’m running 11.5W from 1 x 26650, but i’m happy with 10W.
Or 15W from 2 x 26650 or 2 x 18650

Or 15W from 1 18650. No problem. :D

But some people like runtimes that are longer than burn of single match.

And where is the fun with that?
