I have it from Illumination Supply.
Craig said it may be a loose screw inside.

I took apart a few EA4s which have the rattling problem.
The culprit is the white delrin ring
I’m not entirely sure as to the purpose of the ring (other than to fill up the empty space in the light, but some are ever so slightly thinner than others, and cause the rattle. This does not change the reliability of the light at all.

Craig

Man, he beat me by 2 minutes. Wink I guess I was right on my findings.

yes, it’s right below the reflector. However, due to the size of the reflector keeping the reflector in place
and the centering ring around the LED, this seems like a bit of overengineering on Nitecore’s part.
which bit them in the backside, lol.

Good to know it's not going to cause problems down the road. Now if they can just screw the damn bezel on straight, I'd be tickled pink. lol!

Hi Craig

How much extra run time would the 2700mah powerex offer vs the 2000mah eneloop ?

Thanks Bruce

Is rattle demon free.  Hope that those who do have the rattle can resolve the issue.

I’ve got a thrower, a flooder, and an EDC too. Still looking for a bigger thrower, flooder, and a new EDC, give or take a few. I’m a flashaholic.

Looks like the rattle can easily be fixed with a couple of small dabs of silicone sealer

Thanks you all for the findings about the rattle issue,
I do not mind to open it, because it is clear that is nothing to do with performance and may not cause a problem in future.

Cool, great news. When I took mine apart and put back together the bezel is even all the way around. Does yours still rattle?

Rick, it still has a slight rattle, but I'm ok with that. The Bezel was my main issue. I can always fix the rattle. I know you straightened your bezel, but I'm extremely anal. Just knowing that it was cross threaded is enough to ruin the experience for me. I'm weird, what can I say?

No, I’m probably the worst when it comes to perfection. When I got my L3 K40 with the bad reflector it has been driving me nuts. They finally got them in, so I have to mail them mine and then they will mail me a new one when they get it.. which sucks but what do you do… Wink

Yeah, I'm thrilled with Craig at Illumination Supply. Every seller should be like him.

P.S. Craig, don't worry. I'm sending the original back first thing Wednesday morning Smile

Is the bezel pressed fitted on or screwed on? Can’t tell by the pics.
