I had ordered the Microtech Scarab knockoff some time ago from Manafont since they are $85+ to purchase locally. My buddy really liked it and asked me to order him the Combat Troodon, well it arrived today and man am I jealous. This is a much better knockoff than the Scarab. It came with a much better holster a better box with a real Microtech catalog and Microtech warrentee card. The blade is much sharper and has no defects and the spring action is also better right out of the box, I had to work on my action and sharpen my blade to get it as good as his also the glass breaker is much better and the screws that hold it together are allens not some specialty screw. I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for one.

My dell eneloop pack showed up yesterday afternoon.  The batteries came in a plastic bag in a cardboard box... environmentally friendly, maybe, but I miss the reusable plastic clamshells of the original eneloop packaging.

I got the Lumapower Trust 2 from KLowD9x. Swapped out the frosted "flood" lens with a clear one and works pretty good with custom polished reflector. Big Smile  Thanks!

K-608. The clip isn't exactly what I'd call great and the liner could be a bit beefier, but other than that, I'm pleasantly surprised. Looks aside (and I actually do like the way it looks), it's an interesting design and pretty neat if you have large hands like me or regularly need to use the knife while wearing gloves. I even like the compression lock, which I always felt was sort of a gimmick and which I still dislike on the K-607.

I got a SSC P7 dropin from the DX U.S. warehouse. Ordered 8-2 and received 8-6. Very nice, if only the selection and website were better. Real tracking also.

3 orders. Two from Manafont and one from Tmart. Three 14500's and two 10400's, 1 Sipik SK68 and 1 Sipik SK78. Killed the driver on the SK68 with a 14500. Took the pill out of the SK78 and put it in the SK68. I also put the 14500's away Smile

I don't like these zoomies anyway...what was I thinking Smile I'll use the SK78 for parts (lens) and probably give away the SK68.

I got some emitters from Shiningbeam today, they are labeled 1D on the main page but 1A when you click on them. I put together a 3.5 amp drop in with one of these new emitters today and they are the brightest emitters I have ever seen. They are a 1A tint but these are much brighter than any 1A I have seen before. I am not sure what these are but I suspect they might be U2s.

Nothing! Grrr... Over three weeks since I ordered from DX. I know I should be used it to by now but it still sucks when they say 7-10 days and it takes a month or more.

I've got lots of bright ideas.

(borrowed old's pic)

It would not work at first  but I unscrewed the pill and wiggled a few things and all is good. Seemed to have a problem with the switch.

I found a small silver of white plastic that was stopping contact with the spring and switch. Works perfectly now

got 4 AW 16340 cells in the mail. sick and tired of spending money and TIME searching for a budget 16340 PROTECTED cell for my EX10. I wont remove protection circuits, because I know that I Will OD my cells. The trustfire flames were the best so far, but are a crazy couple mms too long to work. The spiderfire yellow '1000mA' were Even longer. And after costing up some of the other brands + risk + time, I had to get some AWs.

So far from a resting voltage of 3.99, I managed to put in another 145mA into each of the 4 cells. Will see how they go when it comes time to re-charge.

Got a notification that I missed the drop off of my Shadow TC6. I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!

I also got some Ultrafire 10440's to use in my Ultrafire M5 r5 light. Excited to see the difference in output on this little guy!

Oh the excitement!!!

My packages today were also missed drops... The story starting from yesterday....

  • *got a shipment failure notification*
  • Checked tracking info, item from focalprice, ok its a LED spotlight for underwater use, 3W, cool!
  • **Next day**
  • read date for pickup - 10 aug (day after today), damn.. oh well I can prob pick it up today (9 aug)
  • go to PO, wait in line....    ....   ....  show notification, etc...
  • Get item, check tracking, wait.. this package is a little too small, and its from singapore... tracking ends in ..SG
  • Ask about why tracking doesnt match, (I was still expecting stuff from SG from 3 weeks ago too)
  • Ask if theres another package
  • *they find my package from china (FP)*
  • then they comment
  • "Oh this (singapore article) has been here a very long time!, didnt you get a shipment failure notification??"
  • im like.. OMG... no... (but at the same time, EXCITED!)
  • So like that I got my AW batteries and my V10R Ti, in addition to just the $20 spotlight that I was expecting to get..

They probably don´t fit to my WF-139 so have to hook up my Imax...

Charging complete in my Xtar WP2 charger. I'm impressed with how well the pair is matched:

Battery 1: 4.1325 volts

Battery 2: 4.1392 volts

didn't measure the current, took it apart and changed the driver to 3 mode 8amc

it's just blue compared to my other lights Sad

not today but Friday. UF M2, 2 TF flames 14500, "Benchmade Infidel", Milspec rescue knife. The M2 is an awesome light with a 14500 love it. The "Infidel' came in a Benchmade box with all kinds of warranty paper work and the quality of this clone it top notch. I have bought the Microtech clones before and the quality of the Benchmade clone is far superior. Nothing special with the other knife it did come in a box. Both knives came with sheaths also.

I got the SF L2r. It's a really nice host. The knurling and finish is like the L2i. I was hoping it would fit in a minimag holster but its too wide. Took about 14 days from SF sales. It passed an L2t in the mail. The L2T was only sent out one day before so it should be OK. I have a neutral XRE on order from DX for the L2r but it has been waiting for a supplier forever. I made a spacer so I can run a 4.2V XML dropin with a 14500 in the meantime.

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/benchmade-3300-infidel-outthefr... Also now using the knife for a bit the finish of the knife is not holding up all thAt well but the mechinical function of the knife is still nice and smooth and locks up well.

Got 3 packages.

1 = Ebay -  Box of tools for lathe - drill bit (18mm), reamer (19mm), ball end mill (1mm), taps/dies. (lets try to imagine what could they potentially be used for? 18mm drill, 19mm reamer = battery tube, 1mm ball end mill for trit slots.. heheheh!  (no plans any time soon, maybe next year)

2 = Tower Hobbies - Bits for dads RC Helis, OS Hyper 55 heli engine, tune pipe, props, and other various bits for my planes.

3 = R2 hobbies - bits for RC cars, wheels, tyres, and fiberglass mat. THIS BOX WAS AMAZINGLY PACKAGED, many companies can learn from R2 for HOW to properly package goods.

Took me 20mins to even get a glimpse of the stuff inside. It was packaged in Multiple layers of bubble wrap, which encloses the items multiple times, and around all this are 3 layers of hard paper/plastic backed foam sheet (think of the take-out foam, brittle stuff, but 1/4 inch thick, cut and taped together to form rigid boxes, with a Very neatly wrapped layer of bubble wrap between the foam built up box layers.... Those box knives "stanley knives" as they are commonly called, would NOT even reach the items if I was to take a serious slash at this box, there probably 1-2" of solid packaging material thickness. And all this contained stuff that was not even close to being called fragile (rubber tyres of 2" diameter, wires, connectors etc...)

And shipping was a very respectable price, Items are seriously cheap, and not only that, it was marked as posted on the 8th, arrival on the 16th.
