Last minute shopping

I have noticed a curious metamorphosis in the Christmas shopping crowd. Being Christmas eve, the parameters have changed. Gone are the polite smiles & bright eyes. The ladies are home cooking, They have pulled out the big guns. Anything forgotten…
The husbands are sent out for… Now we guys don’t wanna go out on Christmas eve. ( I know cause I didn’t want to ). Being sent out totally puts us in mission mode. We will get this stuff & get home as quickly as possible or die trying. This mentality has completely transformed my local ‘SHop & Save’ into a scene from ’ Gladiator ’.
Men are flying around the arena with their chariots ( Shopping carts ). They are running into each other. No arguments ensue, this is just collateral damage that is required to complete the mission. The once bold women are now huddling close to the racks for fear of being ran over… It’s all very primal.
