I own several similar hoists (Solarforce, Skyray), and I just ordered some drop-ins. Somhow I don't like the design of the 501 (a bit cheesy). Also, I don't have a gun that I could attach it on. The price seems to be ok though.

Update:

I contacted yoki2011 through MSN.

I agreed to post a normal objective review on their site (DD) in exchange for a free 501B R2 based flashlight with weapon mount and pressure switch. That i can do easily. There was no requests for sweet talk about the product so i agreed. would have declined otherwise for keeping my personal integrity where it is.

If anyone that wishes or need one and does want to make a review for them on their site.... better contact him/her on MSN.

A small "price" to pay for a R2 dropin with pressure switch and decent weapon mount (even if you don't like the 501B much...)

I guess the offer is limited.

I really think the offer is made with good faith so i'm not responsible of any mishappenings. So far i was unable to see anything wrong. Still being cautious since rarely you get something for free (well, for not much effort) just like that.

Personally i think the bundle is quite ok, if only the host would be anything else rather than 501B which is not really my host of choice. A 502B would be a way better deal considering the price difference would be minimal. But for a normally driven R2 even the oldie 501B would do well.

I'm glad you took advantage of the offer and look forward to the review. I didn't really want another 501B or R2 drop-in, but I think it could be a good light for someone just getting started if the price isn't too bad. Or if you want something that throws well.

There was one of our users wanting a red weapon light. I would advise him to took advantage and find a red lens/filter along.

I agree with old4570. Probably not the best price but surely not the worst. Maybe with battey and charger would be more interesting deal.

still hate the 501 .. but if it's free than I'd take it ..As far as a free light for a review ,that's Mr. Administrators call , it's his forum . I'd ask him before i posted a review on Blf .That's only fair .

As long as you keep it objective and informative who cares where does it come from?... but that's beside the point... the review must be on DD website anyway. So grab yours, use the host for target practice keep the guts. :)

501B are great for UV.

Just look at the reviews section and you'll see which members I'm talking about. They are very knowledgeable and experienced with flashlights and will do a very detailed and honest review of any flashlights your company sells.

I believe all who want one such kit partecipate as all they want is to make reviews on their site. It's not about the level of knowledge. I will do a review here but that's my call and was not requested. Strange...

If that will help their sales i do not know. I don't mind a r2 dropin and a pressure switch along with a decent universal weapon mount. The mount would make a nice gift to my fellow hunters.

I had a chat with Yoki earlier on today. They want to do some advertising everywhere possible (what a surprise). I forwarded Yoki to our admin to give them an idea what is budget sellers spot all about (and to reduce eventual unnecesary spam). In the past DD was critcized harshly about their infamous discount practice around the "classic" new year season. Le't see if they might improve. Having more options is always welcome. Personally i never bothered to check DD page... I find everything i need at our usual suspects like MF, KD even TinyDeal lately...

I talked to yoki today and was willing to do a review on their site for the light..no problem..unfortunately the "review" has turned into posting messages on this forum that are spam..sucks cus I would have liked the free light for the review..I have a 501B and it's an alright host for the cost..I keep it in my workshop cus I really don't care about it getting banged around..would have liked another for the car os something..I will never post a spam message for something though..oh well..

I got asked that too but instead pointed Yoki to use the sellers spot with ease and with heavy moderation, preferably contacting our admin beforehand. If you got your offer fro review declined because you did not want to spam BLF that leaves a bitter taste about the true interest of the DD proposal. Frankly speaking i'm not even surprised. I would advise all who agreed/or wish to do the review on DD still do it, but decline any sapmming proposal.

I will do the review if i get the merchadise on DD. Deciding if i will do a review on BLF or not. Depends on current events. However the sample has not shipped yet so i'm a bit suspicious about the genuinity of the offer. Time will tell.

For all who wanted to took the opportunity i would strongly suggest to keep the terms of the original proposal or simply deny the eventual "wannabe spammer" job.

I too was contacted by Miss Yoki and every "review" on this board became immediately suspect. I write for a living and it just would not do to send my credibility down the river for a $24 flashlight. Upon getting "her" request, I imagined posting some blurb in the comments section below a listed item on their site. I don't even have a problem selectively talking about a torch here but I would do it in some form of, as described in my reply below. I sent this e-mail exchange to the admin here before seeing this thread and finding out I was not the only one contacted.

When I said Free I meant free as in everything else makes the host no longer matter what it is .. therefore it's free .

if the drop in and the mount and the remote switch are being sold for very very cheap than no matter the host it's basicly free ..that's all I meant .

Never intended to hide it. Why would i? Perhaps the most usefull info in the whole post. As for the soap box it might be nice tho with stamped on it: Become an iDinor! ;)

I have no experience wih DD yet. I will post if they were true to their words. Still weird that i was the only one who took the offer without much fuss or have to promise to spam a forum. If it were CPF i migh... naaahh even CPF don't deserve that.
