Cree t6 XML led torch 1800

Hi

I Just received the above torch from china but can’t figure out how to adjust the light so that it varies the focus. It came with a white plastic tube but can’t seem to fit it properly. I’m probably being a bit thick here but any help is appreciated. It does say on the ad that the torch is adjustable so I hope this is the case.

Do you have a link to the light?

Here it is:

See 2nd picture on that ebay page, that’s how it looks zoomed out. Probably yours just a bit tight to pull.

pulsar, the torch is definitely not just tight to pull open as it seems that it is threaded.

That white plastic tube is for use with 18650 batteries, since they are a little skinnier than the AAA battery holder. It is only used around the 18650 battery so it fits better inside of flashlight.

could be a twist zoom?

Slightly off topic…there’s obviously no way that torch is 1800 lumen right? Aren’t T6’s only good for ~1000 lumen?

Correct. The 1800 lumens rating is “Chinese lumens” (roughly double the true value).

or you can always divide by three, about 600lm. Most lights are overrated on ebay

I’ve got one and you just pull out the finned front part. It is sticky the first time as it’s an “O” ring that gives the friction unlike some zoomies that have a metal spring ring. I like the flood on it but am thinking about sticking in a better driver as it’s a 5 mode with that next mode memory. Yeuch!

Absolutely! Don’t be afraid to break it - just grab a hold of it and give it a strong tug. Once you get it moving it should ease up a bit. Some are so sloppy loose that you can’t pint them up or down without them zooming in or out. Others are so tight you need two hands and a bit of force to slide in and out.

Even if it was only 600 lumens, that’s still not too bad for a zoomie that size.

I currently use a Led Lenser P5R that has 210 lumen, and it still impresses me when I use it.

I might get one of these unless I stumble across a brighter, smaller 18650 zoomie.
