Sometimes things just don’t go as planned. I built a 2D maglite for a co-worker to run off alkaline batteries. He wanted it bright, I made it 500 lumens. He wanted it blue, it was blue. He wanted modes, I built it with Low-Medium-High modes. He wanted to buy a stock LED Maglite…I showed him the light, so to speak. I guess china post was just too slow for him.
End result is that my co-worker is out of money and I’ve got a DD triple XM-L2 build to fund so the excellent members of BLF get a chance at a kyfishguy mag mod. This build uses the original reflector combined with a pedestaled aluminum heatsink to retain focus-ability. The heatsink is a tight press fit but is not pinned, making further mods easier. The lens is glass and the switch is stock. The emitter is an XM-L U2 1C from LCK-LED powered by a 2100ma Nanjg 105c. The light is powered by two 3AA battery trays from Kaidomain wired in 3s2p configuration (6 AAs). No resistance mods were done on the battery holders. Just based on other sales on BLF I am asking $50 shipped. This will have to be CONUS only until I get a chance to talk with my local post office.
