10440 batteries in a Coleman MAX Cree XR-E LED Multi-Color Flashlight 3 AAA

I had heard that some AAA flashlights are capable of withstanding the additional voltage of 10440 batteries and was wondering if anyone had information about using 10440 batteries with the Coleman MAX Cree XR-E LED Multi-Color Flashlight 3 AAA?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you time.

I doubt it. You’d have 12 volts with 3 10440’s. One 18650 would work though.

No, that would instantly kill it.

It will work fine with one 18650, I’ve done it. Just have to mod around thats all

If you’re new to lithium ion…best read up. Not for begininers really.

And I think you are referring to 1 AAA flashlights that can accept 1 10440 such as Fenix LD01, ITP A3….Thrunite Ti.

3AAA loaded with 3 10440’s = NO NO

Thank you both for your quick reply’s!

Yes, I had gotten the idea from 1 AAA flashlights that can accept 1 10440 such as Streamlight Microstreamlight to be specific. I heard that the Microstreamlight jumped from 28lm to ~120lm. I had just wondered if my 3AAA Coleman max could handle it. Thank you for your input. I will look at a 18650 mod! Would a 18650 help with overall brightness or just battery capacity?

capacity only
