Which to get & why?

Apologies if this have already been asked.
(Only see reviews on each light, photos & beams shots or X vs Y vs Z etc…)
But never see any actual pros & cons of why this light is more favorable then other light; like head size, heat sink, how its driven etc…

Need to buy several light again; but so much choices that made me not knowing how to choose. Batt will all use TF 26650.
Will use as it is, not getting drivers to mod.

1. Trust Fire-X100 >> Proven (7x T6)
2. Sky Ray- 9 x T6>> Proven (9x T6)
3. Trust Fire AK48 >> Not sure if anyone got it? I guess its unproven? (12x T6)
4. YinHex - YH-x3 9x T6>> (I guess no one got it?) So unproven. There are those that uses 26650 instead of 18650 as offereb by YinHex.
http://wallbuys.com/Product/YINHEX-YH-X3-9-CREE-XM-L-T6-2500LM-5Mode-LED-Flashlight-with-a-Battery-Extension-Black3-x-18650—6636
5. Some other 9x T6 but with diff settings of led placement.

Eg: Have J18 (7x T6), but not as bright as X100 (also 7x T6).
So not wanting to make wrong choice now.

On a budget as buying several of them, need best lumen for buck. Believe the above will be more brighter then J18 as minimum acceptability of standert (brightness) will be J18 for my usage.
So which should i get? Or any other recommendation? Edited here: TK 70/75 are good (throw & spill) but the price no good for me.

Thank in advance.

EDITED: Can X100 or 9xT6 touch those “thrower’s distance” in the other “throwers under $40/-” thread? Or not far off in real life?

I don’t have any of the ones you list, I do have a 7*xm-l light though, its definitely no thrower, the reflectors are only about p60 sized, it throws a little further than a c8, but only through brute force, a single/deep reflectored triple, where the emitters are pushed to close on 3a will out throw it no problem, just because its better tailored to throw rather than flood.

What do you actually need? Flood or throw? And why a few? Are you equipping a group? If so is the group always together or is it different squads/single patrols?

It sounds like you’d be better served looking at tn30/31’s, although these are 18650 lights rather than 26650 lights (personally my preference is 2*26650 sized lights I’m finding).

A little more detail of the task would be helpful to understand.

I would recommend going with King Kong over Trustfire 26650

Thx gords1001 for the reply.

For xml T6, currently already have 2 piece TF-3T6 & 1 piece J18 & 2 piece FandyFire throwers. FF can throw but not floody (see nearer good), 3T6 brightness still can but dun throw enough [good to see wall of light clearly 30-50 meters]. Only J18 can see further away due to higher lumens compensate for lux (i call it very bright florescent tube :stuck_out_tongue: ).
(which is why i feel the minimum for my needs - J18 the output sub 2000+ lumens).

Actually, J18 is bright enough for usage but not enough throw, of course if i can get throw + flood at cheaper price will be best; and now there are choices. From 7x T6 till 12x T6.
From photos impression, i only know TK 70/75 can throw & flood, but i am on a budget as getting 3 or 4 piece.

Have seen quite some photos posted here . Eg: TF- x100, brighter then J18 in the 3000 lumen range, also can see “100+ to 200 meters for my needs”.
Think photos are taken by Pok & posted by 2100?

The proven lights are mostly in the 3000 - 3500 lumens range. trustfire X100 & skyray 9x t6.

Last time details is as such > Any DIY pros to teach me what to get.
Previously have many trees very dark at night, now took down trees. The “below pic” where i take photo; will soon have a radius of 100 meters all round clear land. Need wall of light when needed.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/icopulate/100m.jpg

Surrounding the “100 meters radius” of me & at another part of land down the hill bout [500m x ???m (length x width)] stretch (no photo), there will be replanting of seedlings, wild bore come in groups to eat as many sightings of footprint, so workers will do some patrol at night.

Wanted to get a most lumen per buck light is due to “i have j18 (7x T6) whereby x100 (also 7x T6) but output is quite diff”, hence this query to get brightest light from the listed.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I understand from forum that it is a better batt then Tf.

Read that is not protected? & have protected version from Keepers?
And if i get skyray 9x T6 canot fully cap down as each is ~70mm, bout ~2mm more then unprotected ones.
Kind of blur as i am very green with batt.

If i get TF X100 or some others, use king kong can the light fully close end cap?

Skyray9xt6 screws done perfect on everything.
I wouldn’t recommend using unprotected cells because the battery drains quickly in this light.
I haven’t found a valueable 26550 so far. Enerdan sells really nice 26650 with4500mAh, but they are too expensive for me…. But get them if you can afford(you save a lot with the cheap 9xt6 lights these days)
So I use the soshine 26650 which have about 3900mAh and are able to deliver about 9.5A on high after slightly modding the light. The soshine were 8.99$ at tmart and are protected which I often need.

I have the BTU shocker (XM-L U2 CW) on the way from Fancyflashlights; pay $150 and get a $50 coupon for more stuff.
Reviews on here put it as brighter than the TK75 with almost the same throw.
If Ric is OK with one person buying four and getting $200 in coupons, you’d pay $600 for the lights and get $200 worth of FFL extras for free.

For the Shocker, the “Direct Drive DRY Driver” is ok? So far so good?

If; for skyray 9x T6 VS TF-X100, which will be your choice?
Thanks.

I do not have my BTU yet. When mine comes in I’ll let you know how it is. I ordered it because I’ve heard mostly very good things about it.
For the non-flashaholic, I’d recommend the regulated driver.
I’m a card carrying flashaholic and I ordered it with the regulated driver; I’ll mod to increase the current if I feel it needs doing.

Edit: I do not know enough about the other two lights to give an informed opinion. I’m sure someone with these lights will chime in.

TF X100 is the one to go if you want 3000+ lumens under $100. Get TF 26650 is enough as it is very good for its price.
TF X100 heat sink is good compare to others due to bigger head.

Hi Cop,

If it’s a choice between the Skyray 9x T6 or the Trustfire AK-47, the AK-47 is the better and brighter light. Although both produce a huge wall of flood and some throw. However, it’s possible the driver on the AK may require some going over to confirm all has been soldered correctly.

But another big plus is the AK-47 not only has a slightly better reflector design, it can run on just 2 x 26650’s and still maintain nearly the same brightness as running on 3 cells, where the Skyray must use 3 cells only, but both can also use 18650’s with the sleeves included.

I asked China vendor who sell Trustfire about AK-47, he told me it is not real Trustfire. So he doesn’t carry it. But I have X100 and X6. So can’t comment on AK-47.

Yeah… now my head is spinning which to get…

Trustfire x100 > 3000Lumen OTF (bout 3300lumens), deeper “cup” bout 40k lux (proven)[shine brightly over some distance as tested by dong from thai] - now $123.50/- complete set.http://www.aliexpress.com/item/TrustFire-X100-8000LM-Flashlight-4-26650-5000mAh-Protected-Corlorful-Battery-Charger-bag-7-T6-LED-Torch/622932425.html

Trustfire 9x T6 > 3000Lumen OTF (maybe also 3200-3300lumens)@ bout $ 118.50/- per set… http://www.aliexpress.com/item/11000Lm-Super-Bright-9x-CREE-XML-T6-LED-Flashlight-Torch-3X-26650-Rechargeable-Battery-Charger-5/733471792.html

SkyRay 9xt6 > 3000Lumen OTF (bout 3500lumens), but low 20k lux (steals 2100’s words).Price should be around $130+/- per set…

Noticed the TrustFire & SkyRay each have 9x T6 but diff settings? Any diff in overall projected lumen or lux?

Trustfire k 47 > 3000Lumen OTF, Bout $135/- per set…http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1set-Trustfire-K47-Flashlight-5Modes-Memory-Function-10000-Lumens-9-CREE-XML-T6-LED-3-26650/695490281.html

This k47 LED’s setting is same as SkyRay’s LED…so mostly should be same i guess.

For every 2 piece of $ spent on the above “monsters”, i add a bit $ then can have the 3rd complete set of J18…http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/TrustFire-TR-J18-Cree-XM-L-7-T6-7-LED-8000-Lumen-7-cree-5-Mode/609710_599330664.html

EDITED: Forgot there is still this trustfire AK 48 (12 xml T6) @ $138/- complete set…http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Trustfire-AK48-Flashlight-5-Mode-Memory-Function-12-CREE-XML-T6-LED-13000-Lumens-High-Power/722403489.html

Or get BTU Shocker?

All price are about there…More xml… hmmmmm…sigh…… :weary:

DiLeMmA :( DiLeMmA :( DiLeMmA :_(
How? Which to get? Here can make poll?
Or i get 1 piece of each? LOL

Be careful with aliexpress. Not all seller are legit. Maybe you already know about that.
If you can afford BTU, then you should consider TK75 that can go as low as $155 as I remember.

Great light!!!

I got my ak48 off Amazon for $103, I dont have a way to measure lumens but its visibly brighter and whiter than j18 (3300 OTF lumens measured by others). Completely lights up the forest on 3x 26650 Trustfires brighter than daylight
