Anybody have a good source for the small white balanced plugs

I just got myself aTurnigy charger and I’d like to wire up a few battery packs for balanced charging but I can’t seem to source those small white plugs that fit so nicely. I found a few battery holders on DX, appear to be wired in series, which would make it fairly easy to solder on some balanced wires. I’m fairly new to this but thought some of you guys would have an elegant solution. thanks

If I understand you right. You might find what you need at EPbuddy. Just the connectors or balance extensions with the connectors and silicone wire (half way down the page).

You could try hobbyking thats where i used to get my stuff

Hobbyking has them, when I made up some battery packs, I bought balance lead extensions, and cut one end off.

If you’re just going to be charging separate cells, it’s easier and quicker to charge them in parallel rather than using the balance function of the charger.

Thanks guys, this is perfect.

I’d avoid buying the connectors and pins and wiring them up yourself. A royal pain in the ass to do, plus you probably don’t have the proper tool for crimping the pins. Lots of places sell pre-assembled balance leads for cheap.

BTW, whoever started using JST connectors for balance leads should hung, drawn, quartered, and fed to ravenous vultures. JST connectors are not designed for the number of mating cycles that they will see in battery applications.

Correct. And even worse, JST Connectors suck. A lot. Even with the proper tools, they are a M*T*E*R*F*C*E*R to crimp properly, They’re cheap feeling, made of crappy plastic… They just suck. Did I mention a lot?

Yeah I have charged a bunch of lipos for my RC hobby and I agree. I just got the Turnigy and have already thought of just keeping a permanent JST plug in the charger and hard-wiring some better plugs to it for charging. This is really ridiculous as I own THREE 16850 batteries right now, but have been completely addicted in the past week or so and now have three flashlights with one more on the way. This is seriously addicting.

Ha! You’re just barely into stage one of the addiction. Wait until Stage two and three.
