yes, there are a couple threads about that 3xml light – avoid (it uses sort of a drop-in, poor thermal path)

as far as this 26650 clone thingy – it actually looks promising.

they seem to have grafted the sk98 size lens in with a GITD gasket or something? maybe that would mean going to a larger lens wouldn’t be as hard as w/ a solid lens retainer?

i can say, after modifying a few xml zoomies – lens upgrades (wider lens) are where it is at.

maybe we’ll get really lucky, and a different head will screw onto the end of the zoom mechanism Smile

1800 lumens… wow… thats bright! Smile

ok seriously – its cool… i think the main appeal to me of the sk68 was that it was dang small and took aa’s… which is why i have 4 of them lol.

26650 might just be too big for me – but if you use this light for runtime then i guess 26650 would be a good option

either that or mod with sst90 and imr 26650 7amps direct drive? xD

Would you mind keeping the wrong flashlight?

I’m a big fan of the keygos m12 (26650 zoomie).

i agree about the reasons for the attractiveness of the sk68

but I also think there’s room for a zoomie that is big, but more compact than the m12 (I still prefer my z6).

can’t say for sure until i handle it, but I won’t buy one until I see it elsewhere…and what other versions show up.

Is it not an auction rather than buy it now? I barely looked as I really dont like zoomies but a more average price was seventeen quid.

7 Mode: high / middle / low / strobe / sos / Zoom In & Zoom Out
—————-

Actually, that might be 10 modes — zoom in or zoom out times the four light options ….

very nice. i have the 18650 version and that is my floodiest light i have. i used to use it alot but now i find it kinda dim.
if this 26650 version is brighter, i may have to purchase a couple.
looking forward to jm’s review. if i can even wait that long. so jm, what sorta mod did you have in mind?
i think i will sell my blf a8 edition for a modded one of this zoomie

Not a fan of the sipik98 /clone personally. IMO the T6 emitter doesn’t zoom well at all, and the loss of lumen is huge. Good for mounting on bike though because of the floody beam.

not sure…. right now I have 6 mods ahead of it though Smile

probably something cheap since its a cheap host and there is probably a lot of lumen loss with the lens… maybe an xpe2?

The chinese must be using SinkPADs from the BLF group buy Wink

For $12 + an XP- G2, this could be a sweet pocket thrower.
