$2.21 Samsung 2400 (18650) at Fasttech?

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1271302

Coupon BLF doesn’t work, but TENOFF does. After coupon, it’s $4.42 per pack - that’s $2.21 apiece for the battery plus free protection circuit. One of the best deals out there if you ask me, if you’re willing to pry the spot weld (easy job).

The battery color and marking seems to confirm it’s Samsung. What do you guys think?

Looks like a deal, just ordered 3 which drops them to $2.16 each.
Seems like a killer deal.
Thanks for the heads up Pulsar!

Also scarfed up 3 of the Camo holsters for only $1.74 each when you buy 3.

Can’t beat that action 3 of them for less than a McDonald’s value meal

Later,
Keith

are they really protected?
They don`t seem to have this little edge on the Negative side of the battery…
or maybe that doesnt mean anything?

Thanks for posting this. Picked up several battery packs and the camo hoster too.

The PACK is protected - likely not each individual cell.

Ha ha. Ok. The pack is protected with the shrink wrap. Tricky. Thanks for posting the great deal. Bought 3 packs too.

It looks like there is a date code - 04 07 = April 2007 Batteries my be getting a bit long in the tooth…

Well, I like the camou pattern of the holster. Something you would like carry in Airsoft. >)

Wow. That’s 5 years ago. Wondering about the real capacity left. I have the exact battery from an unused netbook 3 cell. They hold the charge well and is still serving my cycling lights.

Yes, protection is for pack. That’s what I meant as free circuit a.k.a extra component you get after disassembling. Individual cells most likely not protected.

You can always use the circuit elsewhere, e.g additional protection for cheap chargers etc.

I’ve snagged three of these myself. Makes the deal even better

Far to old for me. Just cancelled the battery packs.

Uhhh, 2013-2007 -> 6 years old.

If they held up like those BG Micro cells (Super deal on Panasonic UR18650F 2500 mAh batteries) they are probably around 1900 mAh.

Datecode on battery 714 - week 14 2007, that agrees with the Varta (pack supplier) code. So this IS a 6yr old pack.

I’m sticking with my order though, hopefully they’ll still maintain close to 2Ah, then it’s still a good deal for international buyer who couldn’t jump on the BG Micro.

If you have a way to test them I would be greatly interested in there capacity. Could you post your findings here or PM me.

Sure… I can do normal 1A discharge, and I intend to. Normally I get FT orders in around 2 weeks, so we’ll have to wait until then.

If they are good, i should be able to redo my laptop cells on the cheap

No ... there is a protection circuit attached to the two cells like in a laptop pack ..It doesn't mean that the cells individually will be protected when you tear them apart .. if ripped apart you'd be tossing out the little protection board.

6 year old cells are not nessesarily bad . I think at this price If you need some unprotected cells these are worth taking a chance on .Depending on how many fasttech has it may pay to wait and see how these perform when tested .

Thanks for clarifying Boaz. Anyway, like what u said. Worth a try. Report back the findings when i got the batteries. I paid for the tracking. Just a little less than $1.

I received this email… and replied that I am willing to accept the risk.

Dear Tom,

Thank you for ordering the Samsung ICR18650 18650 3.7V 4800mAh Battery from FastTech.com.

When the product was listed, we did not clearly disclose the fact that the battery cells are taken out from industrial products and are re-wrapped and “refurbished” for resale by its distributor.

We have updated product descriptions to clearly reflect this information now: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1271302

Given that these are taken out from industry products (and thus not completely brand now), we would like to double check with you if you’d still like to keep these batteries in your order.

If you’d prefer to keep them, they will be shipped within 24 hours. Otherwise, you may reply to this e-mail and request us to cancel and refund you for them.

We sincerely apologize for this. We will pay more attention on this issue to make sure it will not occur again in the future.

Thank you again for your order and your understanding.

Kind regards,

Jasmine
