TK75 vs TN31 vs Terminator vs TR-J18

So I put all four of these lights on the ground and took a ceiling bounce shot.
Later on I’ll take a few outside shots of these.

I don’t think the picture is working or maybe it’s just a problem on my end.

It’s working for me. Earlier on my webhost was having problems.

When you eventually see it, all four lights are on full power/turbo

Take another pic but with the white balance turned way down. It will give a better idea of the intensity without being washed out like they are in this pic. That had to be one heck of a bright room with all of those monster lights on at once!

Turning the white balance down? I take it you mean you want me to use a faster shutter speed?
Adjusting the white balance will just change the colour of the light.

If I turn it down too much the TR-J18 vanishes.

I fully expect the J18 to disappear with the white balance turned down. It makes it so you see the intensity of the hotspot better. At least if you don’t have a fully manual camera and are stuck using a cell phone or simple point and shoot like I am. If you have a good camera then increasing shutter speed would have the same effect.

Chris, I saw Gords is organizing a BLF meet in the UK. Find out if someone on your side of the pond has a Terminator and if they are going to the meet. If so then get your butt there and compare yours to theirs. I'd be really curious if yours under performs by comparison. You might have received a dud or it could be just that you built your expectations so high there is no way the Terminator could meet them. :(

I didn’t explain myself when I was trying to teach you.

White balance won’t do what you want
Shutter speed will.
Just off to get outside shots. Probably won’t be able to do any indoor ones tonight after either

Here you go

Hmmm I might have been a bit unfair. It seems that my tests were on 2 Samsung 18650 2800’s as the cells barely make contact.
I’ve just been out now with some magnetic buttons ontop of the cells and the light has changed completely.
I’m not 100% satisfied with it but it is much better than originally thought.

It is 300ft to the play equipment and 530ft to the fence at the back of the shot

Is the TK75 the best torch ever made? I’m beginning to think that way that’s for sure…

I am very impressed with the TK75 and the Terminator.

I will say that the tint on the terminator is excellent.

I will sort a video out tomorrow. The video really shows the tk75 handing the terminator it ass.

The tints must be different in real life than what the photos show.

In the photos I think it goes:
TK75
TN31
Terminator
....along ways behind
TR-J18

Not really that much. The terminator is a u3 with a different tint to the tk75.

It was too misty to do any real distance shots. I tried but all you could see was a beam of light. Also, the lights are a bit brighter than the shots indicate. There was a lot of streetlights lighting up the air.

In our shots Saturday night The TK75, TN31 & the BTU all handed the terminater its rear end. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice light but not really in the class of those three imho. We do not have a trj-18 but it looks like it is probably in about the same class as the SRK. Everyone of these lights is awesome in it’s own way.

My observation also.

Lol I am glad it performed a bit better! When you consider the physical size of the terminator, it is a damn impressive light.

But once again, it should be compared to the likes of the srk and eye30/40.

Thanks for the awesome beam shots!

So far I would say so.

That and a TN31 is really all a guy needs in top end flashlights/

With all the praises for the TK75, I wonder how will the RC40, with 4 emitters and bigger, deeper reflectors, compare against it.

It could be the successor to my TK70.

TK75, obliterator of the universe.
