how to remove this driver?

This driver looks to be oddly secured with an outer brass ring. I tried prying the little half circle but didn't want to force it too bad.  I thought I would ask here first before I break anyting.  This is the Skyray 1JC8

maybe you can push down ot it with something plastic from the led side holes. or put a bit of electric tape on a pair of snap ring pliers and try to lightly push down.

I pry opened a few like that with tiny watch repair screwdrivers. Often i did not manage to visually damage the driver althrough i wouldn't care.

im actually messing with the x2000 right now. the original led die fell out of the star. upon opening it up the star itself just free floats on the holder below it it is the driver. there is no plate at all seperating the star from the board so no heatsinking at all.
