Need the above for charging eneloops for our workshop torches.
We have a V8 7dayshop charger we keep for 8x AAAs exclusively (negative contacts have all been bent to keep batteries in) so a charger is needed for AAs, as our spare (along with a few cells I reckon) has been half-inched (stolen).
Ideally individual channels, as often only one at a time is needed. Best I can turn up so far:
Perhaps not as budget as you’d like, but I’ve just picked up one of these which I’m pleased with, seems well made. Maybe more features than you need though?
I have the IQ-328 and I’ve been in the process of using it to refresh Nimh batteries I’ve purchased in 2008ish- maybe a futile task. It’s done well on some of the batteries, and others not so much. I’d like to also have the LaCrosse to compare it to- but it’s been alright. I bought it in February and it’s seen pretty much constant use since. I’ve been keeping a detailed spreadsheet on all my batteries and the results from the charger.
I’d really like that all the channels had independent settings for recharge, refresh, discharge and test- that’s my main gripe really. For example, if you’re doing a refresh on 4 batteries and one is done before the others- and you want to use that now empty channel- you can only set it for charge and set the current. You won’t be able to set it for refresh or whatever- if the other channels are in use.
i have a soshine charger, can’t remember what reviews i read before ordering a couple of years ago. fast charging, delta-v detection, and the batteries are good as far as i can tell, and from what i’ve read. charger + 4 2700 mah nimh
I have the Ultrafire WF128-S charger from fasttech, £13.47 item number 1065500.
I have found this to be fantastic, charges AA/AAA and all the other sizes, but also all types, I have charged NIMH myself on this, what I also like is the ability to work on 12 volts and the USB output.
It also has very obvious lights, flashing red/blue when charging going blue when charged, also very quick at 1000mah x 2, or 800mah x 4.
I chose this over the nitecore i4 as that had let some people down, I personally have never had an issue with ultrafire chargers.
Just another option for you to think about.

A couple of dollars more but with common figure 8 connection so no need for US/UK adaptor. It’s a very good charger, individual channels and delta-V termination. Only thing is charging a single AAA takes up 2x AA slots as the connections are set in the middle.
I think the only difference is that the more expensive one doesn’t have an integrated US plug. I’m not fond of the integrated plug designs as they don’t fit the sockets in use here.
You can get server power supplies that work for just a few dollars. I use a pair of 12V/60A supplies in series when I need to do that much power. It’s about all you can pull out of a standard wall socket.
