Decent keychain light

Just bought an ITP A1 eos ss its a lovely torch but just too heavy for my car keys, so what i'm after is something as bright but alot lighter

Any suggestions

You might want to get the aluminum version, so this way you know what to expect output wise.

Hmmm, would a AAA light be too big?

No not at all.......

I'd probably also recommend an aluminum ITP AAA if you like the size. It also looks like you can't go wrong with the Fenix E01:

It's strange how the name brands offer such great deals for the AAA lights but they charge an arm and a leg for the AA versions.

I guess because they use more material so they bump up the price to cover it.

Hmmm, but we're talking like $11 - $15 for the Fenix E01 and $47.48 for the Fenix L1D. Can't be that much more metal can it? Must be the switch and the mode circuitry. But my goodness I just ordered three different nice looking multi-mode AA lights from DX and the order total was about $40.00 ...for three of them! I do like the budget brands, I must say.

I was just making a guess.....dont know why the price would be so high up......thats why i like ITP because for the S series all the lights are the same price no matter if its a single celled light or one that uses two cells.

Something like the Tank007 E07 (56.2g) might be worth a look. It is not much longer than the CR123 lights I have lying around and half the weight of the Ultrafire RL118.

There's always the Orb Raw but it isn't cheap and I'd make very sure there is stock before you order. Or the Wee http://www.lummi.co.uk/Wee_SS.html avaialble in several brightness settings depending on how much runtime you want. Or how many spare cells you are prepared to carry.

If you don't need humumgous brightness, the Fenix E01 is cheap and very useful. Been on my house keys since it replaced the Fenix E0.

It'd be easy enough to get a small split ring into the Trustfire F23 but protruding clickies and pockets don't go well together. Tends to lead to hot legs.

Another non-budget entry would be the Preon 1 with the keychain ring instead of the clip. That is a nice small light that can still pump out rather a lot of light. There's a review of the Preon kit here.

Here's a size comparison.

AAA cell, Fenix E01, Preon 1, AA cell, Tank007 E07, Ultrafire RL-118. Weights are: 12.2g (AAA cell), 27.4g (With AAA alkaline), 27.5g (With AAA NiMH), 24.0g (AA Alkaline cell), 56.2g (With AA NiMH), 94.3g (no cell)

Personally, I'd only put an AAA light or smaller on a keychain - I can't abide these 5lb lumps of metal that some folks destroy their pockets with. I keep my keys grouped separately, car, house, work so can't hang anything large off the 3 keyrings I'm normally carrying. The person I share an office with has a keychain with what looks like every key she's ever had attached to it and about a pound of assorted keyfob junk. I just couldn't live with that - couldn't find the key I wanted either. Maybe OK if that huge chunk of metal and junk is in a bag - totally hopeless in a pocket.

Allow me to recommend the Romisen RC F7 from KD. http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=9209

It is a nice little light. Weight: 36 grams with an AAA battery. 8 cm long. I use it as a keyring light.

150 lumens says KD? I dont know, but it is a little shrower

That does look nice....looks like a smaller version of the famous RC-G2.

Yes, the F7 is a near perfect mini version of the G2.

Strange thing in that respect: KD has the F7, DX does not.

At KD the G2 are not sold under the brand Romisen, but only called Cree Led RC-G2.

The pictures show the name Romisen though.

I have two G2's and would love a smaller version of the light.......do you by any chance have pics of the light comparing size.

Hi

That can be arranged in a few minutes.

Cool.......cant wait man.....

Im desperately trying to put in a picture, but the program wont let me.

I must try to find out what is wrong. Will be back

Later: No matter what I do the picture will not show. Sorry

What are you using.......imageshack or photobucket.

Hmm, could you try the instructions here and let me know if they work for you? Thanks!

Hi and thanks. Now I got it to work. What I got wrong was to try to put in a picture

from my own harddisk.

Anyway here is the picture showing the reletive size og the Romisen G2 and F7

I second the iTP AAA. Just don't get stainless since it is heavier. I carry an iTP all the time loose in my pocket instead of on a keychain. The Fenix L1D is a bigger light (1xAA, an older version of the LD10), plus it has a tail switch which adds a lot to the length of any light. The LD01 is the newer version of the L0D, but they are pretty expensive. The twisties should be shorter than clickies. I don't have the Tank007 that Don mentioned, but it seems like a good one too.
