Hmmm Nextorch AA

Hmm , looks interesting , $21 , Im thinking ITP in that price range .. But , if its a quality unit ?

That caught my eye too. I also liked the Nextorch with USB-programmable modes. But, what's up with the lumens rating? I'm not a brightness fiend by any stretch of the imagination, but 65 lumens? I think my $3 Powerlight can do better than that.

Digital Regulated 300mA Current Output

I sort of wondered too , but if its 300mA current , then 65L would be outstanding on a AA , could possibly be a long runtime light .

My N-light is fully regulated @ 500mAh current [ AAA model ] and I love it ..

6 to 7 hours on a decent AA on high , I could live with that .

By zooming the pictures the finish looks a bit crude to me. Way below romisen standards (usually) not comparable to anything budget highend im afraid.

Nextorch seems to be a well regarded manufacturer in many sites but their specs are a bit lower than the competition. I'm sure this 65lm is a good number but I'd like to have somewhat longer runtime for this. ITP A2 looks very much similar (if not better) in specs and has a known build quality. I really want to try a Nextorch one day but which one, I can't decide anyhow I try :)

Could it be nextorch knockoff? From DX naaah probably just my immagination. *cough*

Well I ordered one as soon as it popped up on DX, I've seen that light before and rather like the style.

So I'll tell you al about it when it turns up :)

The seem to be getting rather a mixed lot of Nextorch lights at DX, some are the current models and some are rather antique - the old Luxeon emiters are so very out classed by modern Cree's

If you fancy a laugh have a look at the latest Nextorch batteries on DX - http://www.dealextreme.com/p/nextorch-1-5v-900mah-rechargeable-aa-li-fes2-batteries-pair-70570

$9.40 for two non-rechargable (in spite of what it says in the title) batteries!
