[RESOLVED] My DealExtreme order will be shipped to the wrong country

Ah, the joys of buying from China. My tracking number shows that my order is being shipped to the wrong country. It could have probably been rectified, but DealExtreme almost never answers CSE requests anymore, so the order will probably leave Hong Kong for the wrong country tomorrow. Companies always think they can save money by cutting down on customer service, but here's a perfect example of why it will be more expensive for everyone in the long run. I actually caught the error when it first showed up in Hong Kong Post tracking, but no action was taken, and now it's too late.

Update: Well, it turned out to be an error of Hong Kong Post. They confused my billing address with my shipping address. But it was only an error in the tracking system. My package not only arrived today in the correct country, but it arrived in record time, barely two weeks from order placement to receipt of the package in South America. Not too shabby.

I ordered another SmallSun ZY-C41 to see if it has 3 modes as advertised. It doesn't. I also received an Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel, and a Romisen RC-I3. I'm currently doing a runtime test on them and I'll do a full review next week.

Wow - that is a clever trick! What will they think of next?

Now that really sucks....sorry man.

(I'm rahim123 there on DX, that's my username on sites that I don't trust at all, like DX.)

Sorry man...that sucks.

Well, it could have been worse... I knew China would pull through for me!

Long story short, Hong Kong Post messed up, and the tracking info is wrong, but the package is on its way to the right country. There were something like 500 errors of this sort due to a protocol change between DX and HKP. But I'll believe it when it arrives.

Updated, I did receive the package in good time in the correct country. See my first post.

Ordered a 12V 1A PSU on Friday night, got it this morning. Not bad going really. I've a bunch of stuff in the system at DX just now - most of it made it to the postal system this week. The Chinese New Year chaos appears to have worn off. At last!

Still trying to buy an SST-50 light though. Nobody actually has any.

Hmm, have you looked on QualityChinaGoods? They are a bit more expensive but they also seem a lot more professional and organized.

I've tried to order from several of them. Not one of them actually seems to have, or be able to get one. Why do they bother advertising stuff made of unobtainium.

QCG is very slow, like most of the mainland Chinese folks. 2 or more months to here is the norm.

Will wait till I see actual posted reviews and not the "Temporarily sold out"

Or if I get desperate for lots of lumens I'll order one of the Arcmania ones which are 2000+ lumens and run on NiMH D cells so no explosions. They will be available in a month or so. Just at 3x the price of a Chinese light.

Or I could just be sensible and wait till the Chinese ones are actually available. After all, I have 3 lights and 3 dropins in the post right now. SAdly i won't be near my mail till Sunday night so a Monday morning visit to collect stuff from the Post Office will probably ensue. Pity I have to be at work then when I could be playing with testing some new lights.

Hmmm, and what about BestOfferBuy? They seem to be located in Singapore.

But will keep looking. A lot cheaper than getting the $180 Arcmania one.

Glad you got it man......cant wait for the review.Laughing
