I was just wondering the pros and cons of both.
Obviously, the Ebay HID is half the price of the FF4, but the FF4 takes 18650’s, whereas the Ebay HID has a proprietary battery pack.
Anything else?

Yup, the FF3 is really small for an HID. Is it slightly bigger than the SRK?
I don’t see any EDC usage out of either of these lights though. :bigsmile:
ff4 has different mode outputs
I was expecting to see beamshots of FF4 here though someone got it earlier.
FF4 is larger than a SRK around the head. 75mm dia and a bit longer as well.

Size did I mention size? Oh yes size. You do not need a shoulder strap.
The specs for the FF3 were more than accurate so I have no doubts about the specs for the FF4. So performance.

ummmm well you can tell the wife its for fitness and weight training.
If you get one that is ok with an ok bat pack and proper temp bulb then you get an impressive show of light.

If you get the blue bulb versions (claimed 6000k and above) urghhhhhh your eyes……
Quality more likely to have bulb/ballast/batpack problems.
(To be fair I have used a 4300k bulb/ballast in a modded lantern and it was better than ok).

Really? Even prototypes are thin on the ground. As I understand it no production ones have left China (if they have any at all) No beamshots or pics anywhere that I have heard of or seen (and I have been looking), or even of preproduction 4’s. Only the airbrush mockups.
Do you know who is supposed to have one?

Oh yes really looking forward to this… not sure about the lull, more rumours every hour, strangely very little about the light itself, more about restricted allocations, but two I have heard (hearsay of course) is that it will be 550-600kcp and that it is actually an 80w that is restricted due to heat issues.

I will not be surprised of the Kcd figures since it has smooth reflector, unlike the FF3. Has the other GB (Lips) released its price already?
