Never seen the Dorcy 41-47540 mentioned here

I have a 4xAA Dorcy flashlight (has some sort of Cree, probably an XPE in it) that has pretty amazing throw for the price.

It will out-throw the Thrunite XM-L that I put in my Pelican M6 easily, but is no match for it in shear brightness.

I got mine for 20 bucks at Sears, you can also get one at Walmart or Amazon.com The beam is white-to-yellowish, and quite tight. I don't think any of my other current lights throws this far. Definitely a good budget buy, and you do not have to wait for it to get here from China!

Dang troop! Looks like I'll have to go to Sears tomorrow.

LOL, sorry 'bout that.

The Dorcy is relatively big in comparison to the small stuff we are used to here. I think it is almost 8" long, nicely balanced, but doesn't fit easily into a pants pocket. Great beam though.

I looked at all the newer stuff at the local grocery /superstore.

ever ready rayovac maglite coleman ..same old trash with silly emitters for like 30$.. I saw the same kind of light but with a different name ..seems to me some of the stuff had same old junk switches and odd lenses with a little bump in the center .. I didn't even see any multi mode lights .I always leave that section shaking my head ..In a few months my friend will show me his bad dorcy light and brag about how good it is ..He snubs a nitecore and then buys a dorcy for the same price ..I showed him my zebra light headlamps and he pulls out his dorcy.headlamp.He didn't like the zebra light either .But if i run across more like his ..pick em up hmmm somethings wrong with this picture .Personally i thought " running across his" was a good idea . I'm now looking for some really heavy old p4 lights cheap to amaze him with ..the heavier the better .

It's just an excuse for me to go to Sears. I can easily spend an hour or more walking up and down the tool aisles just drooling over the craftsman tools.

I was just out in the back yard on a night with just enough mist to really show off beams.

I have an XR-E in a 501B with a smooth reflector that is a pretty great thrower. The Dorcy puts it to shame. Funny that a Sears $19 light can have such a well defined and focused beam. Not much spill to it, but wow, nice spotlight.
