The threads aren’t bad on mine but the bezel is soft aluminum, and the lens looks like it’s waiting to shatter.

Makes me glad I got the FandyFire version. Maybe I got lucky. Usually the other way around. Guess I’m a little strange but I really like the gold color and so does my wife. Wish I had more lights that color.

If I had a nickel for every SRK I’ve put in a shopping basket and didn’t buy. My thoughts, we consumers need to quit buying their profit margin junk. At this point it’s a game who can make SRK’s the cheapest. Big opportunity here for some vendor to step up and turn the game around with a “wow” version, but it will only happen if we make the junk market fizzle.fo

If you want a wow quality version, might as well got for the original, TM11, or TM15.

Those are the "original" versions.

Then you have the Black Shadow Terminator for less flood flood, more throw.  The Fenix TK75 for a whole lot more throw in a completely different form factor.

Or there is also the Zerbralight S6330, which should flood even more than the SRK.

Only problem is, all of these better options are at least two to three times the price of the SRK.

Does the “DRY 3xCREE XM-L T6 3×18650 Torch Flashlight Host Kit” and the “DRY 3xCREE XM-L T6 Cool White / Warm Tint 3000-Lumen 3×18650 Hi power Flashlight” have the same quality as the SPK?

I have also been trying to decide which SRK I want…or if do I really want one. Love the size, looks and output. So so quality and lack of medium mode are my biggest complaints.
I know the driver could be changed to fix the mode issues but I don’t know what size it takes and I’ve never modded anything.

I’ve almost talked myself into a DRY about 50 times but its ugly and doesn’t have side switch.
Wonder if the DRY driver would fit a king?

I’m trying to do this on a tight budget so I tend to over research things to the point I almost loose interest lol. Wish I could decide soon I want a new light!

Comfychair or someone should give the Aleto SRK lookalike with a handle a go.. A nice looking black alternative. If there is a lottery on the typical black SRK kings in that price range one could just gamble on the Aleto..

well, the flashlight looks nice, but seems too short to handle,

It’s 4×18650 so it just has a HUGE head. /Back to SRK

Just because It have a handle I dont see how it compares to that light. The Apex 5T6 have 5 small reflectors and a much larger head and a reverse clicky. Generally different size.
The Aleto have similar triple reflector like the king and similar size, similar electronic button and for many, a much desired medium mode.

I think it looks nicer and cleaner than a SRK. Despite the handle, which might be annoying on such a small light. Would only take 1 minute to remove it, and not too much work/modding would be needed to make it nice and flat on the back so that it could tail stand.

When all that is said, cant wait to get my Gold 32$ SRK from Wallbuys. But if I could have bought the 40$ Aleto withouth import taxes, I would have gambled on that just to try a different light. If the driver was crap, I could always do a complete rebuild and use the light as a host.. Smile

the light is great, with 6000 Lumen, must be super bright.

Divide by 3, it’s Chinese lumens…

I bought the black XMLU2 cheaper version from Fasttech. First one was DOA and I have just received it’s replacement 2 days ago. Seems to be pretty bright but I have never had one before to compare it with. The threads were fine (needed to be oiled) and switch is tight but the machining on the aluminium bezel is bad ( sharp edges and machining marks) and the lense is very thin, it may not even be glass as advsertised. Definately a lucky dip.

You sure the threads are OK? Unscrew the head about one turn, then lift/push/pull/wiggle the head. Does it flop all around and feel like you could almost pull the head off over the threads if you wiggled it in just the right way?

No, it seems tight. No wiggling at all.
I actually like the light but I havent had it for long so we will see. I am more worried about the lens. It will not last.

With BLF coupon code it’s even a little cheaper. I got this one, mine is of good quality, only output is probably lower than (good) CW versions, but i definitely prefer a warmer tint so for me it’s worth it, only the lanyard is a cheaper one than in the pictures. recommended Smile

Yeah and all you need to do is build a time machine and go back to a few weeks ago and buy one from before their supplier switched to the cheaper version that looks like it was machined by a drunk 12 year old!

I’ll give you a hint. It’s contained in your sentence and it’s in ALL CAPS.

I don't get it.  Can you spell it out for me?

The low mode should be lower.
