One thing I notice from your review is the DQG’s beam appears to have superior tint consistency across the beam. XM-L lights typically exhibit some difference in tint between the hotspot and spill. Do you think the DQG’s TIR optic helps mitigate this?
Or does the XM-L2 simply improve over the XM-L1 in this respect?

I own other XM-L2 lights with standart reflectors that still exhibit that tint difference in betwen the hotspot and the spill (usually greenish-yellowish), so I would say it is the TIR optics what makes this beauty uniform tint consistency in the DQG Tiny18650.

That aspect of XM-L/2 lights has always irked me a bit. I only buy a couple ‘ready-to-go’ lights a year and the DQG 18650 is now on my list of prospects!
