I have sent the last 2 weeks looking for a couple of led chips and a 12v driver. every time i find them, i try to place an order. 2 x Cree, Inc. XPERDO-L1-R250-00A01 £3.41 each only then to be slapped with a £15 postage
so for a $5 item its going to be over $27. thats mad. no wonder UK people buy to much from overseas. not only the items cheaper but the postage is either free or only a few dollars.
Has anyone an idea where i can a few items PLEASE.
Im wanting
Cree, Inc. XPERDO-L1-R250-00A01 it needs to be the A01 and not the 401
OSRAM - LRH9GP-HZKX-1-0-350-R33-Z - LED, OSLON BLACK, RED, 120
im also after a 12v driver that can be dimmed. something like XP POWER - LDU2430S700-WD - POWER SUPPLY, SWITCH MODE, 2V-28V.
I can then make up the dimmer onto a remots switch.
I have found all the plans but i have been stumped at the first hurdle buy stupid over charge of postage.
anyone have any idea PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
the XPE red/oranges are $5 from Digikey, but even if a US seller forwarded them on, the postage to the UK would kill it. It’d be$12 for the order, then $6-10 to the UK for standard airmail. Farnell has them for the same in pounds as they are in dollars here, but I don’t know how much shipping is.
As for a dimmable 12V driver, check out some of Texaspyro’s build threads, I believe he’s used several and he gets them off eBay.
I didn’t realise that Farnell stuffed Brits for postage too, I thought that was just a scam for people in the US ordering from Newark (which is linked to Farnell or part of it I think). What a pain in the rear. Well, if you ever need a forwarding service for Digikey orders, just let me know.
