Well I just bought a BTU Shocker for $99 shipped which I felt like was a great deal. And maybe Ric is selling them all out to make room for the upgraded to the XM-L2 BTU Shocker coming out who is to say. But I sure would like to have this one.
It looks like a nice ‘real life usage’ light, but realistically I think it could have done with larger cooling fins.
3000 lumens coming out of a 650 gram light with just light passive cooling fins looks like it might get hot, and stay hot - but then again, that’s what the handle is for.
It looks great, but the cooling fins could have been larger. It uses 4 cells, has what looks like a wonderful reflector, a handle, XML2s and a decent amount of flood to go with the throw it looks like a really nice hiking/walking in parks late at night light.
Very nice - if indeed it’s 3020 lms. I need to read a review first. I think Solarstorm rated the Raging as 4k, but compared to my other tested lights it wasn’t even close to that.
I like how the switch is literally a drag-and-drop copy of the terminator. Actually quite a positive.
At least this'll definitely fit protected batteries, with Ric offering to bundle protected Pana 3400's.
I hope it has a decent positive contact ring and not just a lightly plated board.
It could be close. My SRK with 3 x XML2/T6/3C on copper sinkpads and a custom driver (3A per LED) and AR lens does 2500 lumens. With XML2/U2’s it might do 2850 lumens.
If this light does not have an AR lens and copper sinkpads/Noctigons, it might do 2500 lumens.
See Brad, if toy hadn’t just dropped all that coin on that BTU, you could be buying this light and doing us all a great service by doing a review and some beam shots. Come on man. Step up to the plate. Take a bullet for us again.
Great, another light I really like and shouldn’t buy. Thanks alot guys!I really like my BS terminator due to the form factor….kind like an old 6v lantern. This thing looks like it will be brighter and have better throw with the bigger reflectors.Double damn, I also have a matched set of 4 Xtar 2600’s with no place to call home…how much is this damn thing again? :~
