Any new developments on the 16340 front?

Seems like nobody makes a great 16340…what year IS this anyway?

Any help would be appreciated, my EC1 would like to be fed more juice…what’s the best available these days?

Guess not. :expressionless:

I’ve been wonder this also. 18350s too!

Guess 18650 gets all the hot new chemistries. :frowning:

Would love some INR or some kind of high drain 18350s for my L2Ms.

And http://www.fasttech.com/products/1156600 too! 1200mAh!!!!!111one (note: these actually do around 360-380mAh do not buy)

I'm thinking about cutting them open to see if there's a 10250 hidden inside.

I have Efest IMR 16340’s that seem to work well. Handle the 3 amp draw on a Ultrafire 602 just fine. My other 16340’s don’t.

Yeah I’ve got some of the Effest IMR 18350s. They’re my favorite 18350 cell right now.

Also have gold labeled effest button top li-ions and some gray labeled flat top ones (? brand?) from fasttech.

Would really love something like 20R or PD but in the shorter 350 format instead of 650. Have a 4.5A p60 drop-in on the way….

The TF 18350s I linked above will run my mostly-a-failure MTG2 P60 (3A at the tail) without tripping the protection, just not for very long. One cell is much lower cap than the other so it shuts off with one cell at 2.8x while the other is still at 3.4ish. Under load I suspect it's tripping at 2.5v. I have some white TF16340s that have higher capacity (470mAh), but the protection won't let them do more than 2A.

I think I'm giving up on the MTG2/P60 thing, it's just not possible to find a reflector that works much better than if it were just a straight mule light. :(

Sounds like I’ll be using the 18650 extender…

Sucks about the MTG2. MCE reflectors are no good?

MTG2s are friggin big. So I’m not surprised its giving you trouble.

My TF Flame 18350’s trip their protection right at 3 amps. Like, on the dot. A 2.8 driver works fine, a KD 3040 trips protection.

Best regular 16340s are those from Solarforce, even better than 18350 from Keeppower.

But in these weird sizes I would always get IMR cells..

I have been pretty happy with my Nitecore 16340s. Although they are only 650mAh. I have a Yezl 880mAh 16340 but find it is too long to fit in most of my small flashlights. Both are protected.

Sub 18650 sizes aren’t too common because laptop packs only use 18650’s if not custom designed flat li-ion packs.

It would be awesome if a 18350 had exactly half the capacity of a good quality 18650, say a Panny 3400mAh at 1700mAh.

Unfortunately, there just isn’t a market for these cells other than flashlights and e-cigs.

16340's were used in consumer camcorders, but that market is quickly disappearing.

Oh yeah, I think some DSLR battery packs use 16340’s or something of that sort?

18500s are pretty common..

18650s are also used in electric and hybrid cars. 18650s are just super common and are the smallest cells which can handle 15A+.

CR123/16340 batteries are not common in some countries so we rarely see. I can`t wait to see a 2-16340 light with MT-G2. Now thats called a real “Tiny Monster”

Wow, that’s beautiful!

What’s the driver you’re using?
