Modes are high / med / low / strobe / SOS

100% / 50% / 10%???

Memory? I would actually prefer it has no memory and defaults to high.

Is the UI a Simple cycle? Or are strobe & SOS hidden by double-click or 2 sec hold? (Hope so!)

Any idea what PWM freq is?

Maybe people with other Supbeam lights can shed some light upon this.

If their Supbeam lights have a high PWM, than there is hope this one will have that as well.

if the other ones have low PWM, there is not much hope.

Well…. I love my L3 L10, which is really a supbeam. Wink don’t think that has PWM. But I would like to hear from someone with a K40.

This one is Supfire not Supbeam, or are they actually same company?

the reflectors are a little smaller than the king it looks, but the FF your talking about, there is no info out there. no idea what the pwm is, no idea what they are really driven at. if the driver is no good in it, youll have to live with it, because im sure it will not be easy to swap a driver in it. the FF has a 57mm head, so what makes you think the reflectors are that much better in that?

this one uses the king driver, so if its not no good, you can swap texaspyros driver into it. which will be my plan anyways.

the FF does look good, but this one looks better to me.

ill be taking notes on what to send in my next email to them. try to get all answers in one reply instead of a bunch of short ones. im sure they are too busy to talk to me all day.

so far:

what are the high/med/low settings?

are the flashy modes hidden? if so what is the UI to to get to them?

how much current goes to each led?

how much will the shipping be? im sure this will be a flat rate to all countries, and im hoping that its included in the $28.26 i was quoted.

i may have missed something, i was up late and i just woke up... let me know

edit: once i get some more answers tonight, i will update the main post with all the details. shipping costs, mode order and UI, dimensions... ill try to get all the info there for people not reading the whole thread

I guess no harm to ask them the driver performance, how much current is actually drawn. that can give clue to some user that may not into mods.

+1 if the quoted price already included shipment. please sign me in immediately if that is the case Big Smile

thanks Pulsar Smile

Hey, I'm just asking.  The FF head is only 2mm smaller than the SRK but the reflector could easily be the same size.  2mm in head O.D. is easy to trim off and not effect the usable reflector size.  I just don't care for the smaller individual reflectors.  I'd much rather have the larger overlapping reflectors like the SRK.  If small, individual reflectors were better the TK75 wouldn't be a better thrower than the Terminator.  I have a Rustu RX40 in line for review that has 4 individual reflectors in a 75mm head and I can tell you it's not that great.  It's just a preference thing with me but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something great that the rest of you were seeing.  I hope this light is a good as you hope.  If so I'll add it to my list.

I did put in a product request for it at FT.  Who knows...maybe they will carry it soon. Wink

just the fact that its a redesigned king is whats so appealing to me. i despise the kings styling. this one looks much, much better in my eyes.

the fact it will take texaspyros custom driver is another huge selling point to me.

i will ask them if they can provide it with the original m6 reflector also, if there is enough interest.

theres just too much unknown for me with the FF. if there is horrible PWM, your stuck with it, or hack a driver into it and loose functionality of the host itself (dual side switches, LED battery indicator)... the blue on gray does look great to me though

I hear ya on the host.  Put the SRK reflector in it and I couldn't resist it!

can we get a picture of both sides of the driver along with measurements of it?

possibility of the old style reflector? (im thinking the way that we will have to go about this is buying an original and doing the swap our self. dont think they will be willing to take apart and swap reflectors at this price. time = $$$$$)

possibility of XML2 u2

updated list of questions to email them later today.

feel free to suggest questions/concerns you have

Any possibility of newer emitters, vs the older xmlt6?

XML2T6, U2 or U3, would be an appreciable bump in output.

Worth asking... personally I'd pay a bit more to have XML2 u2 in there, and the price in terms of the LEDs themselves is not that great.  I'm sure even less in bulk.

My main concern is really the UI.  I already have brighter lights, so this would be more to have a spare, or to use a few as gifts.  I'm kind of tired of the SRKs.

Tripod Mount hole? Open hole into the driver area? Just want to confirm that it is there.

I'm in for one!  Way better aesthetics than the SRK.

good eye! i did not notice that it looks like the threaded tripod mount looks to be open access to the electronics.

i will make sure to ask if the tripod hole is sealed off. that is a concern

I notice some concern about the reflector size and throw. One positive thing about having complete reflectors is, a very even spill ring. Also, having a complete reflector means that the light that would have missed the reflector is being sent to the hotspot.
I would not discount this one from having some decent throw until it is tried out.
For me, I’m passing because of budget being destroyed by other orders. I like the host and might consider one in the future.

Welcome the night.

I guess, in the long run, it's not all that bad for me. I would just fab something over that hole after taking out the threaded insert, like a square of copper or Nickel Silver.

If this goes thru at the price you show ($28.26) and very low or free shipping, I would want two of them, just to tear apart and make them into MT-G2 lights.

im hoping it is either blocked off and just does not look it in the picture, or it comes with a threaded plug that looks decent and not an after thought

I’m in pending shipping cost not be terrible, mainly cuz (1) (hopefully) my added interest would make a BLF group buy happen and (2) I don’t have an SRK.

I would also be VERY interested in a more current emitter, e.g., XM-L2 U2, even for a few dollars add’l.

dont bother asking but nw emitters would be of far more interest to me than cw emitters. this will just muddy the waters though and unless the emitters are on a custom star, its a mute point anyway.

I’m in for one if the buy does not go through till August. I can’t see shipping being included but would be happy to be suprised.

just a suggestion, make a total under the list of people interested. that makes it easier for members who are on the fence to see how many people there are and if its close to the number needed then it may entice them to jump in with us Big Smile

Im a bit confused as to how it could be the same driver as the Skyray king but with 5 modes instead of 3?

If it is the same circuit as the king (or a better one with higher PWM) and ships for under $35 then you can put me down for one too.

I doubt this will reach 50 people, that is a huge amount of people buying a light that no one seems to have tried or reviewed.
When that is said.

If its 28-30$, then Ill take one. Put me on the list! Wink

That is one great looking flashlight! Smile

i didnt think it would be worth asking for an xml2 unless they were on a direct bonded copper star... and those are not exactly everyday items. but majority seems to want xml2 so i will ask if its a possibility
