Solarforce M6 NOW AVAILABLE !!

But $76 Booooo

Still want one though !! :-)

Very nice looking light but $76 is kind of steep.

I just cant understand why they insist on including Strobe ?

Nice looking light though , Just wish it was High Med Low ... [ Moon mode ? ]

My wallet already hurts ...

And it's only driven at 1500ma. Waste of an XM-L.

Rich

XML should be driven at 2,5A at least. But with this hardcore, thick body the could go for 3A.... And the modes, I wish the would go for Moonlight, Medium, High. Price is also a big dissapointment.

It looks nice though....

I really hate the solarforce webpage. Product presentation and description is really bad. Even Dx have 4 times better photos of products they offer.

M6 is just 10bucks cheaper than M8, but M6 look nicer and lighter by nearly half of M8 weight.

how i wish solarforce will sell them in different modes for different users

I want one too but, damn $76. My affection for the brand is no secret but is (usually/hopfeully) eclipsed by my need to conserve $$. In pursuit of that mirage, herewith is my latest order and I hope, a narcotic sufficient for my jonesing:

I might prefer the M6 but when this bad boy arrives my guess is that it will be the true hot rod the M6 is not. (but could be) Just goes to show I'm not so smitten with SF that I'm blind to a (possibly) better value.

I agree, at $76 it's only 20 bucks away from owning a TK35.

I'm gonna have to stop thinking about that Fenix and just buy it.

Foy, that Ultrafire tempted me as well. Figured I'd wait for another review or two to make sure the amps at the tail cap were not a fluke, especially since it looks like manafont does not state how much it pulls. At 4.6A, that thing has got to get hot fast.

So much variation in XM-L drivers...

The good news is that Manafont orders seem to get to my front door about twice as fast as DX orders.

They do sell the switch of M6 separately, though.

4.6 is too much, it will damage the LED in that flashlight. If I wanted a serious XM-L light I'd get a JetBeam BC40.

I have the 980 and that 4.6 amp draw has to be a fluke. I tested mine with 2 504Bs with the manafont dropins and 4 different trustfire flame 18650s. I rotated batteries and with the same battery they had nearly identical draw 3.3-3.5 amps. I have a fluke 179 meter that I know is accurate, so if you take into account the driver loss it's about 3 amps to the emmiter. I can take pictures of the readings if you would like.

Shall Not create new subjects, and back question here

What about this torch?

This will be able to be a rival?

I guess I'll have to wait 'til they slash it's price like the Skylines...:(

The switch is only rated to about 3A, like the standard switches. It's nice but it's only a few dollars less than a whole L2P

I think they’re trying to catch some extra sales from all the sf lights being purchased from them recently. I’m sure Foy’s and others reviews from BLF have helped a lot. Pretty pricey so ill pass for now. I thought this would be like a midrange light from SF but the price says otherwise.

Me too. I was thinking since the M8 was $86, maybe the M6 would be <$50, which I would have done immediately.

Sure would like to review a new Solarforce light but, since I'm not feelin' the love right now I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this >>> http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-uf980l-980lumen-t6-memory-led-flashlight-118650-p-5513

I came this close to buying that light when somebody put the link up. Don't know why I held off . . . then I saw those crazy tail cap readings people were getting on the 980L and I'm like: there's a light I can love, an XM-L pushed to within an inch of its life.

I know the feeling; I can't wait either.

Foy

This actually has better than normal output than the average 1x18650 XML light. Its operation is nice-hidden strobe, no need to use clicky to change modes. Relatively cheap, compared to what some CPF style lights are charging, and people buy $120 hosts and $120 P60 dropins and $20 bezels for 2 li-ions to hit 700 lumens!
